Hi all! We are excited to announce an update to our NControl software, as well as extensive changes to Aurora(n) firmware. We made some important and sought-after changes to our Dolby ATMOS controls, designed to simplify your setup and remove the guesswork:
1. ATMOS scenes are now saved and recalled with normal NControl scenes.
2. Global attenuation: Sets the Global attenuation (pre-DSP) for all channels. Set this value if there are any positive gains on any channel’s filter parameters to prevent clipping.
3. Auto: Analyzes the filters on all channels to detect the peak gain and uses this value to automatically set the Global attenuation.
4. Q-Type: Select between three different Q-Types: Constant Q, Proportional Q and the Lynx V1 Q (which is how Q was defined in all previous version of firmware). Default is Constant Q, which Lynx recommends.
5. Optimize: A bass management function that optimizes the levels of the low-pass filtered data sent from the satellite channels to avoid clipping when the data is summed on the subwoofer channel.
6. Added Log Graph display below filter controls. This shows the frequency response curve for the selected channel based on the filters and bass management currently selected.
If you have, or will have, an ATMOS system in your studio, Aurora(n) gives you excellent implementation, smooth integration with Sonarworks and Room EQ Wizard and ease-of use....and, oh yes, don't forget its stellar, pristine, world-renowned A/D/A conversion.
