One of the best views of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta has to be from the Ideum studios with sunrise on the Sandias. We can’t wait for next year! 🌅

This Indigenous Peoples Day, we’re remembering the people and traditions that have shaped this place we’re lucky to call home. New Mexico’s arts and culture are woven from many traditions, and Indigenous artists have been shaping that story for far longer than anyone else.

Ideum was honored to collaborate with the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) and the Museum of Contemporary Native Arts (MoCNA) in Santa Fe on an interactive for their Lloyd Kiva textile exhibition. Visitors could explore printed textiles created by IAIA students in the 1960s and 70s under New’s artistic direction, then try their hand at the printmaking process digitally.

We also had a chance to learn from tradition and share it with others through the Exploring Acoma Pueblo Pottery project. Guided by UNM instructor and potter Clarence Cruz and Acoma artist Michelle Lowden, who comes from a family of illustrious potters, we shaped an experience where visitors can explore the meaning behind the motifs and the history and culture they carry. The Pueblo of Acoma, about 60 miles west of Ideum's studios, has been continuously occupied for more than 800 years. Acoma artists have built a pottery tradition with designs drawn from nature and rooted in a spiritual worldview: clouds, rain, lightning, mountains, birds, and wildflowers.

In each of these projects, the technology was only a way to open the door. The art, the knowledge, and the stories belong to the artists and their communities. We look forward to both working on and sharing more of our local New Mexico projects with you all soon. 🧡

Whether it’s a first-time guest at a visitors center, a prospective student on campus, or a donor stepping into a nonprofit organization, people arrive at new places with questions. Since many spaces don’t have the capacity for a reception desk to greet and direct these visitors, an Ideum interactive kiosk can help get newcomers and regulars alike become more acquainted with your campus and services. 🗺️

We offer a variety of multitouch kiosks so you can pick and choose the solution that works best for your application and space. Ideum’s kiosks are turnkey systems, with fully integrated computers running Windows 11 Pro. This allows you to use any Windows-based software on the screens, including web-hosted applications. The dedicated graphics card can handle demanding graphics, with upgrades available for even more powerful applications. They don’t require any complex installation, and are ready to use out of the box – just plug them in and push the power button to get started.

ℹ️ Every space is different, and we are glad to help find the right kiosk for yours, our team is here to answer questions and walk you through each option!

Which movies filmed in New Mexico are your favorite? 🎬 🌄

Whether you’re flying into the Sunport this week for Balloon Fiesta or next for the Santa Fe International Film Festival, make sure to take a moment at the New Mexico Film kiosk. The custom kiosk allows visitors to explore by location, jumping to a city or scenic locale and browsing information about the productions that were brought to life there! 🎞️ 🎥

Aside from information about productions across the state, you can see exclusive behind-the-scenes photography, and even watch trailers on the big screen while waiting to board. ✈️

The kiosk was built using Staron solid surface material and wood accents.

A custom made map of New Mexico was embedded into the kiosk.

The heat is on as two of Ideum’s interactive games return to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta starting this weekend. The festival is celebrating 54 years of drawing hundreds of balloons, pilots, and spectators to New Mexico. 🌄
Underway since 1972, the fiesta is the largest and most popular balloon festival internationally. This year’s theme is dedicated to the Scenic Route 66 centennial and marks a decade of Ideum’s partnership with the Balloon Fiesta. 🎈

This summer, we had the privilege of working with the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) to install our EM Spectrum interactive exhibit at both of their US satellite dish array sites. NRAO selected the exhibit as a way to help visitors learn about radio waves and better understand the role they play in humanity’s ongoing discovery of the universe.

You can read more about the installations in our latest news post: https://ideum.com/news/em-spectrum-at-nrao

Our standard touch tables and displays are an excellent starting point for customization. Over the years, we’ve developed ultra-high-resolution and large-scale multi-screen touch tables, as well as unique form-factor kiosks for a wide range of environments. Along with aluminum and steel, our fabrication team works with materials such as wood, acrylic, and solid surface to create exhibits that are both functional and visually distinctive.

We can design and fabricate:
➤ Customizations of our standard touch screen tables and kiosks
➤ Large-scale multi-screen touch tables
➤ Freestanding fabricated kiosks
➤ Interactive touch screen towers
➤ Options for integrated lighting, sensors, or cameras

From concept to installation, we create custom touch screen tables and kiosks that connect people with ideas through interactive design and durable engineering. Ideum also offers exhibit design, AV, and custom software development services.

It's been a year since the opening of the Pathway to Peace: USS Missouri's World War II Experience. The opening coincided with the 80th Anniversary of the End of World War II, and today, we celebrate and reflect on the exhibit and it’s significance in American history. 🇺🇸

Created with the USS Missouri Memorial Association, the exhibit tells the story of the Mighty Mo's WWII journey, ending with the Japanese surrender on her deck in Tokyo Bay.

Opening weekend brought 8 surviving crew members and fellow WWII veterans, including many centenarians, together for a commemoration ceremony, a Hawaiian blessing, and the exhibit's first reveal: custom cases built into the ship's contours, artifacts, interactive displays, and a short film.

One year later, their stories still live on aboard the Battleship Missouri. ⚓
