Good Morning,

You may have noticed some connectivity issues with some popular sites and online services. Amazon Web Services (AWS), which provides services to many popular content libraries and web services, experienced a disruption last night into this morning. I have attached a site with information about the outage if you are interested. We wanted to keep you informed! All services seem to be back up and working this morning. Hope you have a great week! Amazon said AWS was recovering from a major outage that disrupted online activity around the world. Users reported issues with Snapchat, Robinhood, Roblox, and many other services.

Good Afternoon Guys! We have heard from several customers last night and today that Samsung TVs are having some issues. I found this on the web regarding Samsung TVs and apps.

Good Afternoon to our Customers! It was recently brought to our attention that some customers were unable to reach the website www.homesoflakeblackshear.com. After some research we found that the webhost of the site was blocking a large portion of our IP addresses. After several emails and phone calls we were finally able to get this resolved. We would like to ask that you please check and verify that you are able to reach this website from your home or business that has our internet service. If you are not able to reach this site, please reach out to us!

If you ever notice other individual sites that are unreachable after several tries, please reach out to us so that we may help evaluate the situation for you.

We have gotten partial resolution on connectivity to content and websites! You should be able to reach office365 and other Microsoft services at this time. Please reach out to us with any other issues with access to sites or content. Hope you have a great night!

Good Evening Guys. I know it's been a rough day for connectivity for all of us. We wanted to give you all an update. We know that utility workers are working hard to restore services for several providers in Cordele. I am so sorry for the interruption. We know that certain things may not be working at this time. This huge outage is due to the wreck and fiber damage on Hwy 300 today. We know that just about all providers in Cordele have been affected. Our other primary upstream provider had a bad configuration in their equipment which has caused some sites and internet content to not be reachable. They are working on it now. If you have a particular site or service that is not working, let us know and and we will report it. We are hoping they have this resolved tonight. Rest assured, we are pushing them as hard as we can and will be up late for you. Hope you have a great night.

We are currently experiencing a service disruption due to an issue with our upstream provider. Our team is aware of the situation and is actively working with them to resolve it as quickly as possible.

Just a quick heads-up: when your power returns or you switch on your generator, you may need to reboot your equipment. If you’re using a generator, please remember to unplug your devices from the battery backup and connect them directly for optimal performance.

Hurricane Helene

In preparation of potential impact of Hurricane Helene, we want to reach out to let you know that our team at Southern FiberWorx is taking precautionary actions to ensure our services are available for you. However, there may be power outages in affected areas, which could disrupt your internet and telephone services.

Please be aware that while we are actively monitoring the situation and have our teams on standby to address any issues, services dependent on electricity may be affected if you experience outages.

We recommend the following steps to stay connected:

1. Charge all your devices, including mobile phones and laptops, in advance.
2. Keep backup power sources, such as portable chargers, readily available.
3. Follow us on social media for live updates and service restoration information.

We will be actively monitoring outages in the area. If you have power and your service is out, please know that we will be on top of restoring services as it becomes safe to do so. 📢 We apologize for the brief Internet outage at Lake Blackshear due to a lightning strike near Cedar Creek. Our team responded in 10 minutes and reset the equipment. The service is now back up and running smoothly. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We appreciate all of our customers for their continued support!
