Broadcast infrastructure was once concentrated in secure technical areas, protected by locked doors, access controls, and people who knew exactly who belonged there.
Remote production takes important devices outside that environment.
Encoders, gateways, routers, and storage may be placed in temporary venues, vehicles, commentary positions, or other locations where physical access is harder to control.
If a device is lost or removed, the risk is not limited to replacing the hardware. Stored passwords, network addresses, routing information, and configuration files may reveal how to access the wider system.
Cybersecurity and physical security cannot be treated as separate disciplines. Once production moves beyond the facility, they become part of the same responsibility.
