Here’s a fun project I worked on today! One of my regulars wanted to upgrade their three season patio. They ordered some new furniture, a new outdoor rug, and I installed a new 55” TV on the wall to enjoy some evening baseball games and weekend football parties! Very simple setup, and very easy to use with their DirecTV Stream account I set up for them earlier this year. Since I had previously installed a Ubiquiti whole home WiFi system system with five access points across the home, connecting the new smart tv to WiFi went as perfectly as expected. So happy for my clients and their new hangout spot!

Monday March 31st, 2014, I left my house to go to work as Comfort Mac Solutions for the first time, continuing to help clients I’d been working with for many years before at FirstTech Computer. Ten years later I continue to work with so many clients, and I hope to work with many more. Here’s to another decade of computer support, I couldn’t do it without the trust of all of you!! It's gear testing day!! One of our clients is getting a new system in their new office tomorrow! All new router, security cameras, and new phones! With a new Ubiquiti system, we are able to incorporate all of their needs into one system. The Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro is a pro-grade router/firewall, phone controller, and camera DVR, all in one! The phone system is saving my client lots of money per month, with a line only costing $9.99! New 2K indoor/outdoor cameras with smart motion activation will help keep their new building safe. And new WiFi 6 access points! The ethernet system is run from the Ubiquiti 24 port switch that provides power for the wifi access points, cameras and phones, so no outlets needed! Hello friends, clients, and others who know me and know what I do! It's been more than three years since I've been active online. It's been a rough three years, but life is good! The rest of 2022 looks to be great, and I'm excited for Apple's announcement coming up on September 7th!

Why does the rest of 2022 look great, you might ask? Well this little MacBook Air M2 seen here is just one example! I set this little guy up for one of my favorite clients, who needed a portable Mac for working in the field with their clients. I think I’m more impressed than they are! The speed of the new M2 is blazing, and with the 512GB storage on this model, it will hold all of their emails, images and documents they need to use while out and about. Now all three of these wonderful interior designers can do their jobs on the road and out of the office! Also thank you to those designers for their awesome desk for me to take this photo!

I have lots of success stories, and unfortunately I don't make the time to post about them. But this one has to be said about one super happy client. I was given a dead 2006 iMac yesterday that had been sitting for over 8 years. This client was fearful that all of their photos were lost and had left the computer sitting around after replacing it with another iMac. I pulled the drive and was pleased to find it was in working condition and was able to recover EVERYTHING that was on that iMac! They are downloading the data to their iMac at home as we speak and we finally able to view the photos and files they had been missing for the last 8 years! If you have an old computer that you aren't sure will work or can't get your files from it, let's give it a try! We may be able to get your life's history recovered!

Have any of you seen this “invoice” come in the mail? I just received this today, and it’s a perfect duplicate of a bill one of my clients saw two days ago. It’s a total hoax as I do not use this company for any services, and they think this way of "advertising" will bring them business. If you see this bill come your way, toss it in the garbage!!

Being a school tech is more than fixing computers, it’s encouraging the youth to try new things, learn new skills, and find their passions. We started a new school tech team today, and the students are so excited to help repair the broken computers!

The newly formed JGESA Tech Team is learning how to make computer repairs from our IT Tech Jeff. This team of students will eventually take over the day to day maintenance of student Chromebook computers.

Another major WiFi system upgrade installed yesterday! The home owner complained of bad internet speed and areas of the house that had no WiFi coverage. A previous company had installed a “repeater” on the main floor with the Comcast wifi router being in the basement, and told the home owner this was the best they could do. The house was equipped with nine network connections across the house, with each bedroom having a connection, plus the theater room and kitchen. Only three of these connections were even wired in the basement, rendering six of them useless if a device were to be plugged in. I removed the repeater, installed one Ubiquity WiFi access point on each floor, with each of those on opposite sides of the house for complete coverage. I added a new network switch in the basement to connect each of the wall jacks, so no matter where in the home you plug into, it will be an active connection. We even tested download speeds of 30mbps in the backyard! Another happy customer!

I had the wonderful opportunity to upgrade a new client's wifi system yesterday. I was referred to them by one of the doctors of this clinic whom I did some work for the week prior, with this new clinic stating they have been having major internet and wifi issues for quite sometime. A previous company had been attempting to repair and upgrade the system, and according to the client they were not doing a good job and was costing them a lot of money. I came on Monday to look at the current system, and found an absolute mess. Multiple network switches were tied to each other, a $50 home wifi router (trying to cover a 5,000 sq ft office unsuccessfully), and a major mess of wiring. I removed all of the equipment, one piece at a time as to not disrupt the workday at this office, and replaced it with a new 24 port network switch, three new Ubiquiti wifi access points, mounted to the ceiling, located across the office, and all new cabling. The end result is over 50% of the wifi devices in the office are connected at 99% signal strength, the others are at a minimum of 60% strength. Zero dropouts from corner to corner of this large office. It looks like the FBI request to reboot your router is true. Everyone, unplug the power to your router/wifi/modem, and let it sit for a few minutes, then plug it back in. It may not do anything, but it certainly can't hurt!

Security experts said the malware has already infected more than 500,000 devices in over 54 countries.
