Honesty, fairness and integrity in business matters to God. Building a business on dishonest gain is a sure way to block your blessings.

Most CEOs have expectations for every investment they make in their business.

Employees are expected to perform. Software is expected to improve efficiency. Marketing is expected to generate opportunities.

So why do so many organizations expect so little from their website?

Too often, the standard is simply:
It looks professional
It works on mobile.
The information is up to date.

Those things matter, but they're just the baseline.

Your website should be doing much more than existing online. It should be communicating your value, building trust, qualifying prospects, and supporting your business goals every day.

In our latest video, S. Mays Designs CEO, Stephanie Mays, share what every CEO should actually expect from their website, and why raising those expectations can completely change the role your website plays in your organization's growth.

I'd love to hear your perspective:
What's the one job you expect your website to do better than it's doing today?

I've seen this happen repeatedly: an organization grows, but the website remains frozen in an earlier stage.

The problem isn't necessarily that the website is “bad."

The problem is misalignment.

Your digital presence should support the organization you're building, not preserve the organization you started.

Does your website represent where you are now?

Many people treat their entire website like an “About Me” page.

It says,”This is who I am, what I do, and how long I’ve been doing it.”

Unfortunately, no one really cares.

Your experience, credentials, story, and expertise help establish credibility.

But they shouldn’t be the main focus of your website.

Your visitors aren’t coming to your website simply to learn your life story.

They’re coming because they have a problem.

And they want to know if you can solve it.

That means your website needs to answer questions like:
What problem does your business solve?
Who do you solve it for?
What does the solution look like?
What makes your approach different?
What results can someone expect?
Why should they trust you to deliver those results?
What should they do next?

Here’s the solution:

Stop building your website around “What I do.”

Start building it around “What my customer needs.”

Take a good look at your homepage today. If someone landed on it with a problem your business solves, would they immediately see the solution?

Or would they have to dig through your story to find it?

If your website is not communicating how you help, then it’s time for a new website strategy.

The most successful websites I've worked on all had one thing in common:

We spent more time thinking than designing.

And that made all the difference.

You wouldn't build a house before creating a blueprint.

So why build your business's digital home without a strategy?

Before a single page is designed, you should already know:
- Who your website is for.
- What action you want visitors to take.
- Why your website exists in the first place.

A strategic website isn't built around colors, fonts, or layouts.

It's built around clear business goals, your audience's needs, and a plan for moving visitors toward action.

Design brings the strategy to life, but strategy is what gives the design purpose.

Investing more time in planning saves time, money, and frustration later.

Which is more important to you: great design or a clear strategy?

As Believers, we know that abundance has already been promised to us. Knowing this, our pursuit should not be to chase abundance. We should properly steward what God has already entrusted to us, and our faithfulness will make room for the increase.

An outdated website, or one with outdated information, can quietly damage your organization's credibility.

I can't emphasize enough how important it is to keep your website content current.

Every page on your website sends a message about your business, whether you realize it or not.

Trust is built through accuracy, consistency, and information people can verify.

When visitors find outdated services, old events, broken links, or stale content, they may begin to question whether your organization is active, reliable, or paying attention to the details.
It's also worth considering how people search today.

More users are turning to AI-powered search experiences to find businesses and answers.

While fresh content isn't the only factor AI systems consider, accurate, well-maintained websites are more likely to be recognized as reliable sources than sites with outdated or neglected information.

If your website hasn't been updated in months, or even years, it may be time to ask:
Does my website still inspire confidence, or is it quietly costing me opportunities?

Have you ever visited a website that told you everything... but somehow said nothing?

Most websites are full of information.Very few actually communicate value.

There's a big difference.

Information tells people what you do.

Communication helps people understand:
- Why it matters.
- Who it's for.
- How it solves their problem.
- Why they should trust you over someone else.

That's where many websites fall short.

They list services, share company history, and describe features, but they never answer the questions visitors are really asking.

People don't make decisions based on how much information you give them; they make decisions based on how clearly they understand the value you bring to their situation.

A strategic website doesn't just educate visitors, it connects, builds confidence and guides people toward taking the next step.

The most effective websites don't make people think harder.
They make the decision easier.

Do you think most business websites communicate their value clearly, or do they simply provide information?

Don’t assume your way is the only way; rejecting wise advice doesn't limit the person giving it, it limits your own potential.

Be humble enough to listen, wise enough to accept correction, and willing enough to grow.

Every lesson you embrace is an opportunity to become a stronger leader and build a better business.

Earning trust online has become more difficult.

AI and website builders have made creating a website faster and more accessible than ever. But they've also made it easier for scammers and low-quality businesses to appear legitimate.

As a result, your website is no longer judged simply on whether it exists.

It's judged on whether it inspires confidence.

A professionally developed website isn't valuable because it looks impressive.

It's valuable because it's built with strategy.

Every element—from your messaging and branding to the user experience and calls to action—should work together to answer one critical question:
"Can I trust this business?"

That's not something AI can determine for your unique organization.

It's the result of understanding your audience, your goals, your positioning, and the experience you want every visitor to have.

As technology makes it easier to build websites, strategic website development becomes even more valuable.

Because trust isn't generated by a tool.

It's built through intentional strategy.

Do you think people have become more skeptical of websites over the last few years?
