June is National Safety Month - so, let's talk about the importance of hydration on the job.
By the time you feel thirsty, you're already behind.
A 2% drop in hydration is enough to slow short-term memory. And in jobs where a missed detail has real consequences, that math matters.
This is especially important for anyone running operations in the heat — on a roof, in a cab, on a route, or behind a console that doesn't get cooler just because you're inside:
→ Start hydrated. You won't catch up later.
→ 8 oz every 15–20 minutes in the heat. Cap it at 48 oz an hour.
→ Water beats energy drinks.
→ Skip the alcohol the night before a hot shift.
→ Keep drinking after. Recovery takes hours, not minutes.
Headache, muscle fatigue, dizziness — those aren't "push through it" signals. That's the body telling you it's already running on less.
The work needs your people at 100. Hydration is the easiest place to protect that.
