Everybody makes a beeline for the pumpkin tables.
The hayride is the part of Oak Creek Fall Festival you end up talking about in the car.
It rolls out through Emerald Park Reserve, and late October is exactly when you want to be out there.
Ride it early while the kids still have patience.
Then hit the petting zoo, where a donkey will walk right up to you like he owns the place.
There is a band on the main stage all afternoon for when everybody needs to sit down.
Pumpkins can wait.
Get on the wagon first.
October 24 / 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. / Drexel Town Square / Oak Creek, Wisconsin
