Research Scientist, Dr. Anna Stepanova, recently attended the NSF IUSE PI Meeting to present the grant ‘Developing a Digital Sketching Application That Delivers Personalized Feedback to Improve Student Learning and Engagement in Micropaleontology’ and meet with future collaborators.

“To enable training of undergraduates in the basics of micropaleontology by non-experts, we developed FossilSketch, an interactive digital tool that introduces students to micropaleontology through educational videos and exercises focused on their applications in geosciences. The unique FossilSketch environment allows students to practice skills and receive individual real-time feedback without instructor supervision. Results of classroom testing showed that students who used FossilSketch statistically performed better than the students in traditional classes.” - Dr. Stepanova
