I just fixed something on my Linux box. This was very simple. I have a 2 TB external drive and was using it with no trouble for a couple years, i think. The other day, I was getting an error message on my Linux Mint 22 box that it could not be mounted and gave an error. I then tried it on my Fedora 41 computer and got the same error. The fix was to open the Disks app on my computer and go into the settings of that disk and select "Filesystem Repair". It is now mounted on my Linux Mint computer again and I am able to use it as normal again. The 2 TB external drive is NTFS and it was initially formatted using a Windows computer. Let this be a lesson to everyone. Errors on the computer WILL happen. If you do not know what to do, someone else will. Make a simple call or email to someone and get your computer fixed. The fix for this drive took me less than 5 minutes from start to finish.

Ugh. These scamming websites are annoying the heck out of me.

I click on certain "sponsored" posts on facebook and get a popup about Windows Defender has detected viruses on my computer.

That's very interesting because I don't even have a Windows computer. My computer is Linux and Windows Defender is nowhere near my computer.

This is a warning to everyone. Do not approve anything on your computer. Know which anti-virus you are running. If you do get a popup, press Ctrl+F4 on your computer to close the tab that just opened and go about your day. Keep in mind there are a lot of scammers out there who are hoping you fall for their tricks. If you have any questions, you can message or call me to ask.

All too often, people are putting down Linux saying that it's too hard. The truth is that it really is not hard. It is a bit of a curve going from Windows to Linux, but the simplicity and reliability of Linux is really superior. I just did an update to Libre Office on my computer. It was ridiculously easy and fast. In the process, I also needed to uninstall the older version. It was seriously absolutely simple to do and ridiculously easy and fast. The only reason Linux has not over taken the Operating System Market is because the average computer user does not want to install a new/different operating system.

I had to use LibreOffice for work this week. MS Office was not cooperating with me so I had to build an image file using LibreOffice and then Exported the file to Jpg. you cannot export from Word to jpg, but you can with LibreOffice Writer. And its working now

Ok, I just fixed a somewhat big thing on my Linux computer. Google Chrome would not load. The window would pop up but it was just white and would not show anything, even after waiting over 24 hours to see if it would work. I went into the CentOS configuration window and removed all settings related to Chrome. I then reopened Chrome and it works now.
