HR 1, also known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, wasn’t written as a domestic violence bill. But its Medicaid and SNAP changes land squarely on the people DV programs serve:

- Medicaid community engagement requirements start by January 1, 2027
- Medicaid renewals move to every six months
- SNAP exemptions have already narrowed
