"Are you scared that AI is going to take your job?"... While an honest question, it also shows the lack of knowledge of what art & graphic design is, what we do, & how to identify the differences between real art or design & artificial.
Yes, we're in an evolving AI-driven feeding frenzy state right now w/ generative messaging & imaging. A useful tool for anybody w/ little-to-no skill, who can type in minimal instruction, & click an "enter" button. It's exciting to sit back & get instant gratification of a thought come to life. It’s also helpful for designers who need to do things faster, more efficiently w/ automatic processes.
However, art is human expression-- what's in one's mind or imagination. You can command a computer to TRY & create something from your mind but it'll never truly be from YOUR mind, YOUR creation. Understand that there's an algorithm to AI. It's a step-by-step process (the SAME process) used for EVERY question, EVERY creation, to "solve the problem". Following the same robotic steps, every time, is methodical. When that happens, you end up seeing the SAME "solutions" or "creations" being generated, OVER & OVER.
Everything sounds & looks the same. I see it all the time. I can tell who is using AI-generated copy & designs. The "perfect" wording & art (especially for optimizing views) is the work of a robotic system. And when your presentation starts to become robotic or repetitive, it shows. It’s degraded. It's no longer unique, it’s no longer you. It blends into the abyss of AI… don’t blend in. STAND OUT. Be authentic.
No, AI is never going to take over my job, or most anyone's. As long as humans are around (God willing), there always needs to be a human strategizer, creator, & problem-solver behind the wheel. Generalized intelligence (AI) is exactly that, generic.
HAPPY WEDNESDAY EVERYONE! 😆
