Krutz Violins: We Tried the 100 Series — Here's What We Think

We were recently given the opportunity to try something new at Tegeler Music — a Krutz 100 Series violin and viola.

See the full video here: https://youtu.be/gDWoivkH1aI

Krutz is a brand we've never carried before, so these instruments were sent to us as samples for us to evaluate and see what we thought of them.

After spending some time with both instruments, I was genuinely impressed with the overall quality. One thing that really surprised me was how much better the instruments looked in person compared to the photos on the Krutz website. The finish, workmanship, and overall appearance were very impressive.

I did find one issue during the evaluation: the tuning pegs on both instruments were quite tight and sticky. You'll actually see me dealing with that while tuning the violin on camera, and I added a little "needs some peg dope" commentary on screen.

In this video, I'll show you both the Krutz 100 Series violin and viola, talk about the things that stood out to me, and give you my honest first impression of a brand that's new to us.

If you're a student, parent, teacher, or musician looking for a violin or viola, hopefully this gives you another brand to consider.

Not Much In This D'Addario Box - Let's See What It Is!

I don't understand shipping procedures from some companies. In this case I did a big enough order to get free shipping but I can't imagine the shipping bill when they only put one thing in a box.
