Many SQL developers underestimate the power of temp tables to create efficient queries.

Recently we worked with a large corporation who was utilizing a financial application with a SQL Server backend. They had been plagued with financial extract reports taking well over a day to return a months worth of data.

We identified the query being generated by the application and broke it down to identify possible pain points.

We then implemented a single supporting index in addition to the stock indexes created by the application to support there abnormally high transaction load.

The results?

The same report now takes less than 3 minutes to complete.

Issues like this are extremely commonplace in corporations nationwide. Dont accept poor performance as the "norm", let us fix the issue at the source!
