There is a new scam going around where you will receive an e-mail that is asking you to access a shared Google document. This link is valid and the URL will show “accounts.google.com” again making it look legitimate (It will also likely come from someone you know). However you will then be asked to give your google account permissions to run GOOGLE DOCS, this is where the malware can then take full control of your e-mail and contacts.

You can spot this e-mail as it usually has a CC address of: [email protected]


Google docs does not need to request permissions to access your information, this is a 3rd party developer gaining access to your account. If you have received this e-mail please delete and spread the word, if you or anyone you know did give access please let me know and I can help get your account secured. -Max
