Apparently, My Collectors Need Inventory Management. šŸ˜‚

At my last show, Emma arrived with a LIST.

Not a shopping list.

A list of all the artwork she has purchased from me—so she wouldn’t accidentally buy the same image twice. šŸ˜‚

Honestly? BRILLIANT.

But what really got me was how incredibly honored I felt.

Someone has collected enough of my artwork that she needs a list to keep track of it. ā¤ļø

And there’s another reason Emma is part of my inner circle…

She’s on my email list.

Which means she gets the behind-the-scenes news, first looks at new work, special announcements—and yes, she got the FREE art sample I send to everyone who joins.

So if you’ve been following my work here, admiring paintings, wondering what I’m working on next, or just want to get a little closer to the studio…

Maybe you should be on the list, too. šŸ˜‰

Join my inner circle at KelseyMerkle.com and I’ll send you your own FREE art sample as a thank-you.

Emma has her art inventory.

You can have your free art by signing up at the bottom of my website homepage.

Seems fair. šŸ˜‚šŸŽØ

šŸ†šŸŽØ Meet the 2026 June Pearl Art Merit Award Winners!

Every year at the Erie County Fair in Hamburg, NY, five young artists ages 5–17 are selected to receive the coveted June Pearl Art Merit Award + $ prize!

Wendy Merkle (June's daughter and my Mom) and I (June’s granddaughter) have the VERY difficult job of choosing the winners—one per age group, plus one extra when choosing just one is nearly impossible. And trust me…it usually is! šŸ˜‚

This award honors my grandmother, June Pearl—an artist, art teacher, Fair enthusiast, and champion of young artists. June received a full scholarship to FIT but was instead sent to secretarial school. She didn't let that stop her from becoming an artist.

June adored the Fair and spent years encouraging children to enter their artwork. When Parkinson’s disease made judging difficult, she still showed up—with a cane one year and in a wheelchair the next. ā¤ļø

After her passing, it became my honor to carry on her legacy by judging the award and encouraging the next generation of young artists.

Congratulations to this year’s winners! šŸŽ‰ You would have made June proud.

And parents & grandparents: start planning for next year! If you've got a budding artist at home, enter them in the Fair. You never know where a little encouragement might lead. šŸŽØāœØ

After a 2-year absence, I'm so excited to be returning to the Lewiston Art Festival this weekend (Aug 8-9)... and I've truly missed seeing all of you!

I'll be bringing a fresh collection of original paintings, new prints, and, of course, I'd love the chance to catch up with familiar faces (and meet a few new ones too!).

If you've been waiting to see my work in person, this is the perfect chance. Stop by, say hello, and let me know what you've been up to while we've been apart. I can't wait to be back!

Who's planning to come? 😊

The newspaper says I'm worth visiting. Who am I to argue?

Award-winning artist Kelsey Merkle has spent the past decade traveling the country, exhibiting at some of the nation’s top art festivals and inviting thousands of visitors to watch her paint in real time. This September, however, she will welcome the public somewhere they have never been before: the Clarence Center studio where every piece begins.

Merkle will host her first open studio from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13, at her private studio, 6122 Railroad St. Admission is free, and a portion of the proceeds from every original painting sold during the event will benefit Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.

ā€œOpening my private studio to the public feels a little like inviting people backstage at a magic show,ā€ Merkle said. ā€œThere are paintings everywhere, supplies everywhere, and probably at least one thing I should have put away before visitors arrive.ā€
