Can you believe it's been 16 years since the iPhone first went on sale?

That's right, on June 29th, 2007, people were camping out in front of Apple stores just to get their hands on this ground-breaking new device. One million phones were sold in just 74 days.

Now, it's hard to imagine a world without smartphones - but back in 2007, the iPhone was a game changer. Not only did it combine features like a phone, camera, and music player into one sleek device, but it also introduced the concept of a touchscreen inter-face and paved the way for mobile apps.

Let's be honest, we've all probably spent more time than we care to admit scrolling through Instagram or playing Candy Crush on our iPhones. But beyond the entertain-ment factor, the iPhone has had a huge impact on the world.

From changing the way we communicate with each other to revolutionizing industries like music, photography, and even healthcare, the iPhone has left an indelible mark on our society.

So as we celebrate the 16th anniversary of this iconic device, let's take a moment to ap-preciate just how far we've come - and also poke a little fun at those early iPhones with their tiny screens and limited features (remember when taking a selfie wasn't even an option?).

Here's to another 16 years of innovation, progress, and of course, memes.
Happy anniversary, iPhone!

Fifteen years ago to this day, the iPhone, the revolutionary device presented to the world by the late Steve Jobs, officially went on sale. The...

Have you heard of a DDoS attack? If not, listen up. Recently, Microsoft's Outlook was taken down by one, causing chaos for millions of people.

What exactly is a DDoS attack? It stands for Distributed Denial of Service, and it's a type of cyber attack that floods a server with traffic until it can no longer function properly. Think of it like a digital traffic jam - the more cars on the road, the slower things move.

DDoS attacks can happen to anyone, regardless of size or industry. And if your business relies on online services like email or cloud storage (which, let's be real, most busi-nesses do these days), an attack like this can be incredibly disruptive.

So how can you protect your business from a DDoS attack? Here's my advice:

1. Invest in DDoS protection
2. Keep your software up-to-date - many DDoS attacks rely on exploiting vulnerabili-ties in outdated software
3. Use a content delivery network (CDN). It can help distribute incoming traffic across multiple servers, reducing the load on any one server and making it harder for attack-ers to overwhelm your system
4. Monitor your traffic. It’ll help you quickly identify any unusual spikes or patterns that might indicate a DDoS attack in progress

By taking these steps, you can help protect your business from falling victim to a DDoS attack. My team and I can help implement these. And if the worst does happen, don't panic... we can also help mitigate the damage and get you back up and running as soon as possible.

Remember, cyber criminals are always finding new ways to disrupt our digital lives. But with a little bit of vigilance and preparation, you can keep your business safe and secure.

The attack caused intermittent outages for about a day.

Have you ever noticed that some of the biggest tech companies in the world got their start in a garage? That's right, Google, Microsoft, Apple, and Amazon all began in hum-ble garages, on a shoestring budget (let's forget the wealthy families behind them for a moment).

It's left us wondering... what is it about these unassuming spaces that sparks creativity?

Maybe it's the lack of distractions - no fancy office furniture or corporate politics to deal with. Or perhaps it's the freedom to be messy and experimental without worrying about ruining expensive equipment. Whatever the reason, there's something about the garage that seems to inspire innovation and creativity.

So, for all wannabe business owners who are starting out on a tight budget, take heart - you're in good company. Maybe one day we'll look back on your garage with the same reverence as we do with the garages where the big firms got their start!

But, wherever your business begins, and whatever point its at now, let's not forget that it takes more than just a garage to build a successful business. It takes hard work, dedi-cation, and a willingness to take risks.

We'd love to hear about where your business started out. Leave us a comment below. And if we can help you pick the right tech to take your next big business step, get in touch.

At this point, the concept of a chatbot isn’t exactly news anymore. How quickly times have changed!

But did you know that the Bing search engine also has its very own AI-powered chat-bot?

Bing Chat can do everything from answer your questions to play games and tell jokes. It's like having a personal assistant right at your fingertips.

The chatbot uses natural language processing and machine learning to understand your queries and respond with helpful information. You can ask it anything from "What's the weather like?" to "Who won the Super Bowl in 1986?" and get a quick, accurate re-sponse.

But that's not all. Now, the desktop version of Bing Chat is catching up with the mobile version to support voice control. That means you can ask your questions hands-free while doing other things on your computer. Talk about multitasking!

It's simple to use. Just click on the microphone icon next to the chat box and start talk-ing. Bing Chat will take care of the rest.

Of course, we should mention that voice control isn't for everyone. If you feel uncom-fortable speaking out loud, or if you're in a noisy environment, it might not be the best option for you. But it's still worth checking out.

Microsoft has been consistently introducing updates to its AI chatbot Bing, which utilizes the ChatGPT technology. The good news is that Bing Chat is freely

Big news for all Google Chrome fans - the browser is getting a fresh new look with its upcoming update. Chrome Refresh 2023 will introduce a sleek new design that promis-es to make browsing faster, smoother, and more intuitive.

So, what can you expect from this redesign?

For starters, the browser tabs are getting a facelift, with rounded corners and new col-or schemes making it easier to differentiate between tabs at a glance.

There will also be new icons for important features like bookmarks and history, as well as a streamlined menu bar taking up less space on your screen.

But it's not just about looks: Chrome Refresh 2023 is also introducing powerful new features to improve your browsing experience. There will be new privacy settings that give you more control over how your data is collected and used, as well as new tools for managing passwords and credit cards securely.

When can you expect to see this shiny new update? The release is due later this year - the name kind of gives that away - although it’s available for testing right now. Howev-er, we would suggest waiting until it’s been put through its paces before you trial the update. Let someone else iron out the kinks so your productivity isn’t affected.

Google aims to bring slight enhancements with the Chrome Refresh 2023 update, and here is how to test it out before the official release!

Technology is evolving at an unprecedented pace, but so is our understanding of the impact it has on our planet. As businesses, we need to stay aware of the latest developments in green technology and minimize our environmental footprint.

There's a great example in Japan, where researchers are planning to launch a wooden satellite into orbit next year.

It sounds unusual, but there are good reasons for using wood instead of traditional materials like metal or plastic. For one, wooden satellites would burn up more easily upon re-entry, reducing the amount of debris that falls to the Earth. And the production of wooden materials is less energy-intensive than metals and plastics, making it a greener alternative.

This development shows us that even in areas as high-tech as space exploration, there's room for environmentally-friendly innovation. How could you make your business's tech greener?

Test results from a recent experiment aboard the International Space Station among three wood specimens revealed magnolia to be the most versatile. The samples, which were exposed...

This can be especially useful if your business has multiple departments or teams, as it allows private spaces to collaborate on projects and ideas.

The update also includes new moderation tools, which give admins greater control over their communities and allows them to manage posts, comments, and members more effectively. This can help you maintain a higher level of professionalism and productivity within your Teams app.

If you haven't tried Teams yet, this is your call to action! And if we can help, get in touch.

Did you know the phrase “spam” for email doesn’t originate from the tinned meat? And it’s not an acronym either. In fact, it was named after the Spam skit in Monty Python’s Flying Circus

Today I found out how the word “spam” came to mean “junk message” or “junk mail”. While some have suggested that this was because SPAM (as in the Hormel meat product) is sometimes satirized as “fake meat”, thus spam messages are “fake messages”, this potential origin, while plaus...
