This beautiful Korg DW-8000 was dropped off at the shop today. These synths made there debut in 1985 and have been used by artists such as Keith Emerson from Emerson, Lake, & Palmer, and Dream Theater. The DW-8000 is a hybrid synthesizer. It features digital sound wave generation paired with analog amplification and filters, giving you the best of both worlds. This particular DW8000 was dropped off after our customer lost all of their internal sounds and patch’s. As always we will be sure to record the troubleshooting and repair process! 🎹🎶

This amazing Nord Stage 4 was dropped off today at the shop. Nord is one of the few piano brands that use samples from real instruments for their sound library’s instead of trying to replicate the sound like other keyboard companies. Nord also features a Fatar keybed in all of there stage models providing a smooth and responsive action. This particular Nord was dropped off due to one note not sounding, as always we will be sure to record the repair process for you guys to see!

Today this lovely little Audion Consolette Reed Chord Organ was dropped off at the shop. These organs feature a small button section next to the keys that allows the player to easily play a series of minor or major chords, or bass notes with there left hand allowing them to center there focus on playing the melody with there right hand. This button section made these organs a great learning tool for beginner players and children. This particular organ is a reed style chord organ, it works very similar to a standard pipe organ. A blower is attached to a chamber that when turned on is constantly filled with air. When a note is pressed a small opening with a reed overtop of it opens allowing the air to blow across the reed causing it to vibrate and produce a sound. Most chord organs are reed organs however there are exceptions like the Hammond S6 which is a fully electronic tube powered chord organ. This particular chord organ was dropped off because it won’t turn on. As always we will be sure to record the entire repair and restoration process for you guys to see!

This lovely Aguilar Tone Hammer 500 was dropped off today at the shop. These amps are tried and true in the bass community. They have been played by artists such as John Pattitucci of Chick Corea and Adam Clayton of U2. This particular amp was dropped off after our customer lost all power and sound. Today at the shop a Korg DVP-1 was dropped off. The Korg DVP-1 is a Vocoder rack effect that was released in the early 80’s. It features over 64 memory patches, a 5 part vocal harmonizer and a pitch shifter. This particular DVP-1 was dropped off after our customer lost sound completely, as always we’ll be sure to record the process for you guys to see! 🎹🎼

One of the most sought after synths came into the shop today, this is a Yamaha DX7, more specifically the DX7IID. The Yamaha DX7IID is an upgraded version of the original DX7. Debuting in March of 1987, four years after the original DX7 was released, The DX7IID was an instant hit. The original DX7 is a monotimbral synth, or a synth that only allows one voice or sound to be played at a time. The DX7IID is a multitimbral synth, or a synth that allows multiple voices or sounds to be played at a time. This allows the user to layer multiple sounds together to create endless amounts of unique patch’s. This particular DX7IID came into the shop after our customer noticed a massive drop in volume from the output. We’ll be sure to record the repair process and all the wonderful sounds this amazing synth has to offer! 🎹🎶

One of our favorite amps walked through the door today, this is a 1965 Blackface Fender Bassman. These amps are an absolute workhorse and have been used by artists such as Jimi Hendrix’s and Eric Clapton. These amps are sought after do to the incredible versatility of sounds you can get out of them. This particular Bassman is in the shop due to it not producing any sound. As always we’ll be sure to record the entire process of repairing and restoring this piece of history! 🎸🎶

One of the more less known vintage amp brands out there, this is a Magnatone M10. These amps were very popular in the late 50s and early 60s as a more budget friendly alternative to fender amps that could be quite pricey. These amps were used by some of the biggest names in rock at the time, including Buddy Holly and Lonnie Mack. This particular Magnatone was brought to us after our customer lost all sound. As always, we’ll be sure to record the entire process of repairing and restoring this amp back to its glory days! 🎸🎶

One of the more unique instruments we have had walk through the door, This is a Korg RK-100 keytar. Debuting in 1984 the Korg RK-100 granted keyboard players the freedom to move around the stage as they please. Keytars gained popularity in the 80s and 90s after being used by musicians like Prince and Herbie Hancock. They have also been used in more recent years by artists like Lady Gaga in 2010 during The monster ball tour. This particular Keytar came in due to a broken battery socket preventing the unit from turning on, well be recording a video of the repair as well as a demo of all the cool sounds and features this instrument has to offer! 🎹🎶
