🚨 If your business uses a Fortinet firewall or VPN, please read this.
Researchers have confirmed an active cyberattack campaign — now being called "FortiBleed" — that has compromised approximately 80,000 Fortinet firewall and VPN devices globally, spanning 194 countries.
This isn't theoretical. Attackers have already:
🔴 Built a database of 30,000+ working Fortinet login credentials
🔴 Targeted Fortune 500 companies AND government agencies
🔴 Been quietly inside some networks since at least February 2026
Here's what makes this especially dangerous for small businesses:
Most of these organizations had no idea they were compromised. Attackers weren't crashing systems — they were watching. Logging credentials. Mapping networks. Waiting for the right moment.
Fortinet firewalls are incredibly common. They're in banks, medical offices, law firms, accounting practices, and small businesses across the country. If you have one and haven't verified your firmware version and credentials recently, now is the time.
What to do RIGHT NOW:
✅ Identify whether your network uses any Fortinet device (firewall, VPN, FortiGate)
✅ Contact your IT provider and ask specifically about FortiBleed exposure
✅ Verify that your firmware is fully patched and up to date
✅ Reset VPN credentials and admin passwords — even if you think you're fine
✅ Check your cyber insurance policy — many require timely breach notification
