We're thrilled to announce that Blip Energy has been awarded a $1.1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy! This prestigious recognition is part of DOE's initiative to promote advanced technologies for a more efficient, affordable, and sustainable future.

Our project focuses on the development of a chemistry-agnostic Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) that harnesses second-life batteries. This not only supports the efficient use of resources but also promotes circular economy principles, ensuring that batteries have a prolonged life in our ecosystem.

By providing reliable backups to 120V devices with these batteries, we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the energy sector. We're immensely grateful to the DOE for this opportunity and are committed to making a positive change for our planet and community. Peaker plants are fuel burning plants that emit large amounts of carbon dioxide and harmful pollutants and are only turned on during periods of high energy demand. They tend to be expensive, inefficient, and disproportionately located in low-income neighborhoods of color.

By shifting your energy usage to off-peak windows, blip reduces our reliance on fuel-burning power plants and can even help shut them down!
