It’s a wrap! At our inaugural , we finished up 2 incredible days together, in person with a volunteer event…. Embracing our “Warrior Spirit” core value.

We began with an exercise in understanding requirements by following these simple instructions: "Draw a water bird in its natural habitat." There were many penguins, geese, flamingos, and ducks abound—though we all learned this didn't match our "client's" requirements. The lesson was clear: specific requirements are important!

We then finished out the Sandstorm Summit with a volunteer activity: putting together coloring books for the Metro Achievement Center; embracing the theme of girl empowerment. Sandstormers banded together to cut the pages, fold the coloring booklets, and put together the packets with all of the art supplies the girls will need to enjoy them. Best of all? The art within the books was created with the help of AI tools!

It was the perfect end to our days together, and we can’t wait until !

At our recent , we brought together our entire team in person for two jam-packed days of collaboration and connectedness. In the spirit of living our core values (Create Joy), we did just that by finishing our first day at the game and celebrating a fellow Sandstormer’s birthday, Nathan Haas.

We enjoyed some nosh and drinks, then headed to the game for even more fun! Beer bats, tiny mics for the play-by-play, 7th inning stretch, and plenty of laughs—we did it all! More to come on our final day of activities.

Last week, Sandstorm Design kicked off our inaugural , bringing together our entire staff for two full days of collaboration, learning, laughter, and plenty of fun. Our team came away more connected than ever since for many of us, this was the first time we met in person. COVID had a significant effect on our hiring strategy, expanding our ability to hire the right person no matter their location, so bringing everyone together was an incredible gift.

Day 1: Sandstormers kicked off the day at Chief, a beautiful collaborative space, with an (inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility) BINGO activity, so Sandstormers could get to know their peers on a deeper level. This was followed by interactive discussions on the business, strategic goals, and roadmap; with every Sandstormer completing the DiSC profile assessment, giving all of us the opportunity to learn how to be better collaborators across different personalities and communication styles.
