What if a book could unfold, expand, go flat, go dimensional, become a sculpture? That's exactly what you'll build in this one-day workshop. bex ya yolk — founder of THUNGRY, a publishing initiative and artists' book bindery — will guide you through bookbinding fundamentals and hands-on construction to create a flexible book form that shifts between states.

Join us next week for Lotería by Karla Santana.

May 2nd 6–8pm!

Taking its name and structure from the iconic Mexican card game, this series uses its symbolic imagery to map Santana's relationship to her own cultural identity across her life — the embarrassment, the shame, the love, the pride, and the reclamation. Each piece functions like a card drawn from the deck: a moment, a symbol, a feeling.

Review key techniques like coating screens, exposure, ink mixing, registration, and troubleshooting—while printing a two-color image.
