Last week, AIA Chicago awarded the new Omega Yeast facility a Distinguished Building Citation of Merit, an honorable accomplishment for the architects Valerio Dewalt Train, especially during a pandemic. While our contributions to the environmental graphics were relatively small, we were thrilled to be part of such a beautiful project.

Silence does not lead to justice, so we must speak out. We feel ashamed that we’ve remained silent for so long, but now is the time.

In support of our black brothers and sisters, we designed some 8.5x11 protest posters you can print out at home and use as you march. Or hang them in your windows to show your support. And if you don’t want to use these words, we encourage you to put a marker to cardboard—just use your voice.

Each poster uses the font "Martin" by Tré Seals of .co (black owned), which was inspired by remnants of the Memphis Sanitation Strike of 1968.

Kyle’s latest typographic artwork was accepted to exhibit at Typeforce alongside 30 other artists and designers in Chicago. Typeforce 11 Opening Night is Feb. 28, 2020 at the Co-Prosperity Sphere in Bridgeport. The show will run through March. More details to follow.
