Before the World Cup, they were kids on long drives to school-night away games. Tonight, they play for the USA.
That's where these players come from. Years and years of dedication and growth - from the players themselves, and from the many people who supported them along the way.
And ahead of one of the biggest matches in USMNT history, we wanted to give credit to the support systems that helped them thrive on the biggest stage.
Because while we'd never claim any credit for their self-made success, several of the players on the USMNT this summer came up through clubs we partner with every day.
1776 United (formerly Nether United), where Auston Trusty first made his name:
"Seeing Auston, who grew up in our program, score at the World Cup is the absolute pinnacle for our club. To watch him share the moment with his teammates and acknowledge everyone who helped him along the way was even more special." - Sam Griggs, Executive Director, 1776 United
Delaware FC, where Mark McKenzie shone as a youngster:
"Mark was a joy to coach - a fierce competitor, a great leader, and most importantly, a great kid. We're proud to have been part of his journey and wish him and Team USA the best of luck this summer." - Justin Romano, Director, DEFC
And they're not alone - Chris Brady (Roadrunners SC) and Brendan Aaronson (Real Futbol Academy) came up through partner clubs too.
This is the part most people watching tonight don't see. So a huge shout-out to the clubs, the coaches and the families who do the long, unglamorous work of building a player - and the person they become.
It's the work we get to support every day.
Good luck, USA. Whatever happens tonight, you're an inspiration to those coming up behind you.
We'll be watching and cheering you on. Same as everyone else.
