9/17/25 We have some big upgrades coming to our core network. We will have some short downtimes over the next 2 weeks of a few minutes, as we add new battery backup systems, upgrade and replace critical Internet hardware. Most downtimes will be less than 10 minutes.

We had a 9minute 15second outage at 4:30pm, as we installed and wired in a new battery backup system for the New Lothrop area. We have to occasionally do upgrades, maintenance and repairs that have short downtimes, to improve overall service quality.

One of our towers in New Lothrop got zapped by lighting today. Our crew is working to replace equipment. Local outages will occur while work is being done. We hope to jave it fixed tonight, but it depends on extent of damage and daylight time to climb again and fix.

We have all of our generators and battery backup systems out and working. They WILL run out of power overnight. We have topped them off with gas, but the tanks are small and only a few hours of run time. We will be refilling them in the morning, but we have a lot of driving to do between multiple tower sites. Consumers Energy & DTE still have multi-day power outages expected.

Our crews are busy fixing damage from the storm, hooking up and refilling generators. We are aware of the outages and are working as quick as we can to restore services.
Consumers Energy and DTE still have tons of outages all over.

One of our towers on the East side of Chesaning took a lightning strike on our backup antenna, around 5am Monday, during the storm. This fried multiple electronics and wiring. The damage was more than we originally thought and we need to rewire & replace almost everything. ETA for restored service is 3pm Tuesday.

We have a tech enroute to investigate a problem with service in the Reese, Munger, Frankenmuth and surrounding areas.

We have still been working to get everyone back online. Were finding a bunch of dead power adapters, due to the sub Zero temperatures. A small portion of New Lothrop is still offline, we should have it working Tuesday afternoon. We ran out of spare parts.

We have upgraded our feed to the larger internet for the Thumb area. Some areas were experiencing bottlenecks abd slowdowns at peak times in the evening. This was supposed to be completed last December, but our provider was months behind on completing it. Customers should see full speeds now and faster speeds are coming soon. Some areas might see short downtimes at night, as we move towers to the new upgraded connection.
