I just read Business Solutions writer Matt Pillar's upcoming feature article on POS startup Congruity Solutions. If this article -- which will appear in our May issue -- doesn't serve as a wake up call for POS dealers, I'm not sure what will. Arlington County will move to a new supplier registration system (bidder list) on June 15, 2012. Suppliers began registering in the new system (iSupplier) on May 16, 2012. IF YOU ARE RECEIVING THIS NOTICE, IT IS BECAUSE OUR RECORDS INDICATE THAT YOUR FIRM HAS NOT YET REGISTERED IN THE ISUPPLIER. All suppliers, including those registered in our current system, will be required to register in iSupplier. Those not re-registered by June 15, 2012 will no longer receive notices of solicitation (bid) opportunities until registered in iSupplier.
IMPORTANT: The new system requires that suppliers select commodity (category) code(s) that match the goods and/or services they provide. The system will send electronic notices of bid opportunities to suppliers based on the commodity code(s) applicable to individual solicitations selected by the purchasing office. IF YOU DO NOT SELECT COMMODITY (CATEGORY) CODES YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE ELECTRONIC NOTICES OF BID OPPORTUNITIES.
