Martin Microwave Inc.

Martin Microwave Inc. Microwave Oven Service and Parts The concept was to deal exclusively with a new invention at the time - the microwave oven. Martin Microwave Inc.

The first and original Martin Microwave was founded in the early 1970s by Retired Marine and WW2 combat veteran Herman Martin in Anderson South Carolina. It's early mission was to provide sales, parts, and service for this new product revolutionizing kitchens across the world. The business grew rapidly and the need to expand came very early on. In comes the 2nd Martin brother - Cecil Martin, also

a retired Marine and WW2 combat veteran. Along with his wife "Gus" (a WW2 era Woman Marine herself), they established the 2nd Martin Microwave located in Mableton, Ga, a small suburb of Atlanta. Here too, the mission was complete microwave oven sales, service and parts. This business location prospered and grew as well, and the need for expansion arose here as well. Brother # 3 - (and also a former Marine), Joel Martin, and his son Kenneth formed "Kenmar" Microwave Specialists in the late 70s and located this business just outside of Birmingham, Al. The same mission was followed, and we now had three brothers providing microwave oven service and sales across three Southern States. The 2nd generation of Martin's stepped into the family business in the early 80's. Cecil's son Tim began working with his Dad during High School and went full time into the business after graduating in 1981. Joel's son Freddy joined his Father's business about the same time. After Joel Martin passed away in the early 90's, Freddy took over operations of the Birmingham business, and continues to successfully operate the business in the same location they've been in since day one. Tim got married in 1996 and moved to Chattanooga, TN, where, along with his wife, CC, opened and began operating the current location of Martin Microwave. Cecil's wife and Tim's Mother, Gus, died in 1998 at the age of 74. She had been an integral part in the success of Martin Microwave, and worked there 5 days a week and sometimes, Saturdays. Her last day of life was spent in the building and business she loved so much. In 2002, the Atlanta branch was sold, and the business operations were permanently relocated to Chattanooga, where it is currently operated and managed by CC and Tim Martin. We still exclusively deal with microwave oven products, however, our primary focus is now internet sales. We operate several websites selling microwave oven parts and accessories. Our retail location provides service and repair for commercial and domestic microwaves. embodies the classic American story of how hard work leads to success. 3 boys who grew up as poor sharecroppers on a North Georgia farm during the depression, overcame their meager beginnings, served their Country in wartime, and went on to raise good families and run successful businesses. These men of our greatest generation knew that ambition, honesty, and hard work would indeed provide for them and their families.

In a perfect world, this would have been the perfect microwaved Thanksgiving meal...
So, how did it turn out the first time your Mom tried cooking a turkey or a roast in the microwave?

It says a lot about a person when they take the time to send a "Thank You" card to a business nowadays.
Robin had a 30+ yr old JC Penney microwave that needed a new glass tray. We managed to track one down for her even though the part has been out of production for over 20 yrs! She was very happy to say the least and we were glad to help her out.
Good people like this are one of the main things that get us up and going each morning.
Thank you, Robin. We appreciate your business!

As per our previous posts, our building and property received significant damage in the April 12th tornado that devastated parts of Chattanooga.
We are in the process of physically vacating our building and moving to a new location. We will be closed during the move and will not have phone service or voicemail until we are settled into the new facility. We will however, be checking emails and our page as well.
We plan to reopen in a limited capacity on July 9th and be back in full operation by July 20th.

We ask for your patience while we transition. The last two months have been the most stressful months in the 48 years that Martin Microwave has been in business. But, my Dad taught me what the Marine Corps taught him - Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome.
We are working our butts off to follow that advice and make it to 50 yrs in business.

Best Regards,
The Martin Family

We are still in recovery mode from the tornado damage we took on April 12th. Lots of damage to our building and we still have no power or internet. We are, however, trying hard to fill all orders.
Please note that our phone and voicemail system is still down, and our toll free number is not forwarding. If you've left a message, it will still be several days until we are able to respond.
Thanks so much to those who have stopped for a moment to email us such kind, compassionate thoughts and prayers.
We ask that you send good thoughts and wishes to our neighbors in the community that lost everything.
There's a lot of them...

Our business was severely impacted by the deadly tornado that hit Chattanooga, TN Sunday night, April 12th. Martin Microwave Inc along with the local Chattanooga community was devastated by the storm. Our building and warehouse are severely damaged and we have no internet or power.
We have TEMPORARILY delayed all operations including shipping orders because The current plan is to resume shipping orders and other business functions within 7-10 business days.
Shipments for any orders placed after April 12th will be delayed by at least 7 business days.

Please bear with us as we work hard to restore our business and our community. Thank you for understanding.
