The day I found out I was pregnant, I tied on a pink waistbead.
Before I even saw her face, before I knew for sure, I had a feeling she was a girl. 💗
As I tied it, I prayed over it. I manifested a healthy pregnancy, a safe delivery, and a healthy baby. Then I wore it every single day as my body changed and grew to make room for her.
Most people think waistbeads are only for tracking weight loss or weight gain, but they can be used to mark milestones too. This bead became a visual timeline of my pregnancy. Month after month, it rose higher as my belly grew, quietly documenting one of the most important seasons of my life.
On the day I gave birth, I cut it off.
Not because it broke. Not because it no longer fit. But because its purpose had been fulfilled.
It had carried my prayers, witnessed every change, and stayed with me from the moment I became a mother until the moment I finally held my daughter in my arms.
