Okay, I showed you mine. Now I want to see yours. 😊

What have you been practicing lately?

Maybe you’ve been getting more comfortable on camera, working on your voice, trying something different with your content, writing, speaking, taking better photos or finally experimenting with something you’ve been putting off.

It doesn’t have to be finished, polished or ready for the world. That’s the whole point of practice.

If you’re comfortable sharing, drop it in the comments. Or, if you’d rather not put it out there publicly yet,
**DM it to Weezy.**
I’d love to see what you’ve been working on.

Let’s celebrate the trying, not just the finished product. 🎥🎙️✍️

Apparently it’s National Dessert Day, and I’m certainly not going to let an important occasion like this go unnoticed. 😂🍰

We’ve been talking a lot about practice this month, but today I’m suggesting we practice something completely different: having a little fun.

So tell me your favorite dessert. Better yet, if you happen to be enjoying one today, share a picture in the comments and make the rest of us jealous.

I’ll go first: this time of year Apple Pie

Practice doesn’t always mean spending hours working on something.

This entire clip is 31 seconds.

I was shooting some footage in downtown Jonesborough and made my first sweep. When I finished, I realized I had missed the top of the courthouse and stopped the shot a little too quickly.

So I went back to my starting point, slowed down, included everything I wanted in the frame and tried it again.

That’s practice.

I didn’t keep repeating the same shot hoping it would magically get better. I noticed what I wanted to change, made the adjustment and tried again.

Sometimes practice takes an afternoon.

And sometimes it takes 31 seconds. 🎥

The time is finally here! 💍❤️

This weekend we’re off to Pennsylvania to celebrate Ivy and Brenton as they begin this next chapter together.

We’ve been looking forward to this one for a long time, and I can’t wait to celebrate with them, hug some family, probably shed a few happy tears and, yes, get out on that dance floor. 💃

Here’s to love, family and a weekend full of memories.

Congratulations, Ivy and Brenton! ❤️

One thing I notice from a Creative Director’s point of view is how easy it is to let the tools start directing the message instead of assisting it.

I use AI, and I think it can be an incredible assistant. It can help us organize our thoughts, explore an idea, ask better questions and even practice what we want to say. But with all those possibilities around us, we still have to make the decisions about what sounds like us, what feels right and what we actually want to communicate.

That’s part of practice, too. The more you use your own voice, whether that’s on video, behind a microphone, in your writing or standing in front of a room, the more comfortable you become with it.

That’s what I’m exploring in this month’s blog as we move into the fourth P of my method: Practice.

If you’re wondering how AI can assist you without taking over your voice, take a few minutes to read it. 🌻

You can find the blog link in the comments below.

And if it brings up a question about your own content or how you’re communicating it, send me a message.

Ask Weezy.

The Cooper Chronicles: One Last Sign-Off 🐾❤️

Weezy’s been flying solo for a week now.
My last crew member from the original K-9 posse has gone on, and I like to think Cooper is back together with the gang that helped start Ellie Video Productions all those years ago.
We will miss Mr. Cooper and all his antics.
Chasing and forever scouring the tree line for squirrels. Holding down the couch, the bed, the rug, or wherever else he determined needed a warm body. And, most importantly, always making sure he had my back covered.
Cooper took his position as my number-one security guard very seriously.

He was part of the crew, part of the stories, and part of a whole chapter of my life. And now that chapter feels awfully quiet without him.
So long, my friend. Give the rest of the posse a nudge from me. ❤️🐾

The Cooper Chronicles may have come to an end, but the stories sure haven’t.

October has a way of reminding us that change doesn’t always have to be rushed.

Sometimes you can just notice it. The cooler mornings. The leaves beginning to turn. An afternoon spent somewhere you enjoy. A story happening right in front of you that doesn’t need to become content, a lesson, or another thing on your list.

We spend so much time planning what’s next that it’s easy to miss what’s happening right now.

So before we get too far into October, here’s your reminder from Weezy: enjoy some of it. 🍂

What’s one thing about this season you’re looking forward to?

Oh my gosh... I moved to where the storytellers unite! ❤️
This weekend, Jonesborough is filling up with storytellers for the National Storytelling Festival, and I couldn't help but smile when I walked downtown earlier this week and saw everything getting ready.
As a Creative Director and Video Storytelling Coach, stories are such a big part of what I do. I help people find the story they want to tell, shape it, and become comfortable enough to share it in their own voice.
And somehow, I ended up living right down the road from a town that celebrates storytelling in a BIG way.
I'd say I landed in the right place. 😊
Here's to a weekend filled with stories, voices, laughter, and connection.
Lights. Camera. Weezy! 🎥❤️

We've spent September talking about preparing ourselves, our ideas and our tools before we create.

But eventually, preparation has to turn into doing. You have to say the words. Try the idea. Hit record. See what happens.

October, we're moving into the last P in my 4P Method: Practice.

And no, that doesn't mean performing until you're perfect. 😉 We'll talk about that next.

Trial and error

Some ideas work. Some graphics work. Some videos work.

And some make me wonder what in the world I was thinking. 😂

That's part of the creative process too. Create. Review. Adjust. Keep going
