Good tidings, everyone!
Today, I have decided to begin a social experiment. I have launched a modern Minecraft server, on version 1.21, with one intention in mind; to study humanity. This server will have a single spawn point with a switch that must be protected at all costs, at all times. Will it forever be in the off position, or will you fight or negotiate to keep it in the on position? Who will claim ownership of the switch? Will you defend it, abandon it, worship it, or simply watch from the sidelines to see what others do?
The concept is simple...how far have we become as a society? The rules, however, do not exist. You will make your own rules, laws, punishments, rewards, and so on as you encounter other players in the world. Where are they from? Will you learn their language or will they learn yours? Will you fight to defend your allies, or let them die in a time of need? Just like a civilization/society! The ethical and moral implications, plus the resulting actions of your decisions, are yours to decide.
This server will have no ads, no in-game product or service advertisements, no to "pay to win" features, no signup or donations required, and I will not be making any sort of profit or monetary benefit in any way from the outcome of the experiment. I will also not be intervening in any way, shape, or form, unless a players actions or behavior violates any sort of IRL international law(s). It could run for weeks, or it could run for years. It's up to you! Will you work together with others with a common goal of thriving and flourishing, or will you result to barbarism and anarchy? The game is locked to Hard difficulty with Hardcore mode enabled. Dying is forever!
Come join the experiment with your base client at iv.frostmud.com on the default port of 25565 and lets see what you become! Will you be a leader, a follower, an unstoppable maniac, or a roving trader? Yes, I know there are a million other free servers out there, but come satisfy my curiosity if you wish! Depending on how things progress, more new features may be added.
See you soon!
