One of the biggest takeaways from event management school had nothing to do with logistics.
We were given a short timeline to plan an entire event — working with people we didn’t fully know, under pressure, and then presenting it.
After our presentation, one of the instructors — a top event producer — paused and said:
“I have one question… who did the graphics and artwork for this event?” I raised my hand. The crowd cheered.
She smiled and said, “Fantastic job.”
That was her only comment. No question about the timeline, the logistics or even the budget. It was the BRANDING.
The way the event was visually presented. The way everything showed up together.
And that moment confirmed something I’ve known — and taught — for years:
