In 2024, Tallahatchie County Libraries initiated collaborations with TELA, CES, and the Eva Covington Headstart Center, aiming to introduce students to the library at the earliest opportunity. These partnerships have enabled us to achieve our mission. Each month throughout the academic year, students visit the library to engage in activities tailored to their age group, such as story hours and craft sessions. Additionally, we organize an annual Story Walk around the Square.

Our goal is to foster a passion for reading among students, and we believe these initiatives will help them become enthusiastic readers. Our ultimate aspiration is to place books in the hands of every child in Tallahatchie County, providing them with the chance to become skilled readers. We are convinced that instilling a love for books in children from a young age gives them a significant advantage in becoming lifelong readers.

It was wonderful to have our friends from Eva Covington Head Start Center, West Tallahatchie Head Start Center, Charleston Elementary School and Charleston Middle School visit us in September. We cannot wait for the fun that we will have in our upcoming months together.
