We’re honored to be featured by UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and to share more about our journey to Chapel Hill.

Establishing IotaComm’s headquarters here is about building in a community that fuels innovation and supports what we’re creating with IotaWave™, the connectivity foundation behind solutions like Delphi360®.

This region gives us the talent and environment to continue delivering real-world impact through smarter, connected infrastructure.

For our CEO, Terrence DeFranco, this is also a meaningful return to Carolina, making this milestone even more special.

We’re excited for what’s ahead and proud to grow in a place that continues to shape our vision.

What will define the next generation of buildings?

That was the focus of yesterday’s discussion at the UNC Cleantech Summit during the panel on Next Generation Buildings: Revolutionary Materials and Smarter Buildings.

Great turnout and a thoughtful exchange of ideas. Thank you to everyone who joined us at the UNC Friday Conference Center.

A few takeaways that stood out:

✅ Revolutionary materials are changing the economics of performance. New structural and envelope technologies are making it possible to reduce carbon while improving durability and resilience.

✅ Smart buildings only scale when connectivity is reliable. Too many pilots work in controlled environments but struggle in real buildings. Platforms like Delphi360® bridge that gap by translating real-world building data into operational insight.

✅ Owners increasingly want proof of performance. The conversation is shifting from annual reporting to continuous verification of energy and carbon outcomes.

We were proud to have Terrence DeFranco, Chairman and CEO of IotaCommIotaComm, on the panel sharing perspectives on how connectivity and real building data are shaping the future of smart infrastructure.

Thank you to Jeff Benavides (U.S. Green Building Council) for moderating and to the panelists from Roofit, Plantd, and Primostar Group AS for a great exchange of ideas.

And thank you to everyone who stayed after the session to connect with the IotaComm, Inc. team.

The future of the built environment will be shaped by the intersection of advanced materials, resilient connectivity, and real performance data.

If you are at the UNC Cleantech Summit tomorrow, put this on your calendar.

Next Generation Buildings: Revolutionary Materials and Smarter Buildings
Tuesday, March 10 | 4:45 PM to 5:45 PM
UNC Friday Conference Center

What We expect this panel to unpack:
• How “revolutionary materials” change the economics of performance
• Where smart building initiatives fail at scale, and why
• What it takes to prove energy and carbon outcomes continuously, not annually

Moderator: Jeff Benavides (USGBC)
Panelists: Terrence DeFranco (IotaComm), Greg grace (Roofit), Huade Tan (Plantd), Indrek Uusalu (Primostar Group AS)

Most buildings now have dashboards.

But many dashboards still answer the wrong question.
They show what happened.

Building teams need to know what needs attention right now.

In 2026, the best building dashboards will:
✅ Turn complex building data into clear operational decisions
✅ Surface anomalies before they become tenant complaints
✅ Track performance continuously, not just snapshots
✅ Stay reliable in real-world environments

That thinking is exactly what shaped Delphi360®.

Dashboards should not just visualize buildings.
They should help teams run them better.

We're looking forward to discussing this at the UNC Cleantech Summit panel on March 10 (4:45–5:45 PM) at the UNC Friday Conference Center, featuring:
Terrence DeFranco (IotaComm)
Greg Grace (Roofit)
Huade Tan (Plantd)
Indrek Uusalu (Primostar Group AS)
Moderated by Jeff Benavides (U.S. Green Building Council, USGBC).

If you're attending, message us.

Also curious: what’s the one metric every building dashboard should surface first?

Facilities teams can’t run mission-critical buildings on yesterday’s data. Real-time visibility is becoming the baseline for safer operations, more innovative energy use, and predictive maintenance.

Proud to see our IotaComm's Chief Revenue Officer, Charlie Thiel, featured on Facility Voices with ARC Facilities, sharing practical guidance on how to start with a focused pilot, prove value fast, and scale with the right sensors and connectivity.
