ScrapRight has joined ReSpark and I want to personally thank the customers who have trusted us for more than 20 years. You helped build ScrapRight into what it is today.

I made this decision because I believe ReSpark is the right home for our customers and our team. The people you know and work with are still here, your support team is the same, and nothing about your day-to-day changes today. The team will walk you through what comes next.

Thank you for being part of ScrapRight’s story. I’m proud of what we’ve built together and excited for what’s ahead.

Something that surprised us after getting into the scrap and recycling business: how many scrap yards do way more than just scrap. 🀯
We've got yards that buy pecans. Yards that buy furs. One yard that buys ginseng, and the owner even had his own reality TV show for a while.
The common thread? They're buying one thing and selling another, all under the same roof.
ScrapRight can handle all of it, not just the metal.

$5,000 stolen from a Kmart demolition site. Uncovered by ScrapRight software. πŸ‘€
Shon Duty, CEO and founder of ScrapRight, shares a wild one: when a Kmart in Waynesboro, PA was being torn down, someone stripped out the electrical cord and sold it off.
Investigators came to the yard asking if they could look up any two foot lengths of yellow extension cord. The software found it. And the trail led right back to one of our own employees.
He ended up losing his job and going to jail over it.
This is exactly why traceability matters. You never know what a record is going to uncover.

Ever had a support ticket like this one? πŸ˜‚πŸ±
A customer's server crashed. He shipped it to us to get it back up and running. When we opened it up, we found out why it crashed: his cat had been using it as a litter box. Not once. Multiple times.
Turns out cat litter and server hardware don't mix. Who knew.
We've seen some things in support, but this one's staying at the top of the list.

Wildest things seen at a scrap yard? Shon Duty has stories. πŸ˜…
An explosion mid weld. A car cut into four pieces for compliance, with a piece breaking a guy's leg on the way down. Brass elephants and monkeys. Instruments out the w***o. And a personal favorite: a guy riding a lawn mower through the gate because local law required a "vehicle" to enter, so the yard kept riding mowers parked outside for exactly this reason.
You never know what's coming through the gate next. That's the scrap life.

$70,000 stolen. Uncovered by ScrapRight. πŸ‘€
Shon Duty, CEO and founder of ScrapRight, shares a story we hear more often than you'd think: yard owners discovering theft they had no idea was happening, until the software caught it.
In this case, a yard owner found out his own daughter and niece had stolen $70,000. And that's just what ScrapRight uncovered since he started using it. No telling how much came before.

Speed wins cars. πŸš—
The yard that gets a quote in front of the customer first is the yard that buys the car.
ScrapRight NextGen lets customers click, click, click and know their payout instantly β€” no phone tag, no pay walls, no waiting.
Buy more cars than anyone in your market.

What separates a successful scrap yard from the rest? After visiting hundreds of them, the answer isn't complicated: owners and managers who are actually plugged in. People who inspect what they expect instead of hoping everything is fine.
ScrapRight is built to make that easy, whether you're hands on every day or more of a silent partner. The right tools mean you can stay engaged in your business without burning hours after hours doing it.
Come see it for yourself.
