TSIowa is a provider of business telephone systems, voice and data cabling, and a complete line of surveillance systems. Family owned and small by design, we are looking for a technician to help us keep up with our growing business.
We are looking for someone with a good work ethic, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. This person should be comfortable dealing with and understanding technology. We will train the right person.
The person we hire will have the aptitude to work in the field of telecommunications and some IT; and be comfortable working with technology. They will initially be trained to help with the troubleshooting of various telecommunication and networking issues - cable, jacks and phone lines not working; swapping out one piece of network equipment for another, etc. They will also learn how to run voice and data cabling and assist with the installation of telephone and surveillance systems for business customers.
TSIowa offers a competitive starting pay of $14-16 per hour, individual health insurance, dental and vision plan; an IRA savings plan and additional perks such as paid vacation and holiday pay. A company vehicle is provided.

Qualifications
• Must have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record and be able to drive a company vehicle in a safe and responsible manner.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with our customers and represent TSIowa in a professional manner.
• Must be clean and neat in appearance.
• Must have the ability to work independently with little supervision; but recognize when they should contact their Supervisor for assistance.
• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Physical and Work Requirements
• Ability to work with small components and differentiate between different sizes/colors of wires.
• Ability to use a variety of hand tools, including: electric drills, hammers, wrenches, and screwdrivers in the installation of telephone and surveillance systems.
• Ability to make cable connections in tight spaces by bending and reaching.
• Ability to adhere to safety regulations and company policies when climbing ladders and operating specialized equipment.
• Ability to perform the job from high places, such as ladders and scissor lifts.
• Ability to carry, climb and operate extension ladders (approx. 24 ft high and 50+ pounds)
