Fall update on our computer recycling operation where we try to set ourselves apart from other recyclers. We'll give you something in exchange for the recyclables you bring in as noted in the flier below.
The Town of Schodack Community Market we were participating in has ended for the season but we have a sampling of the goods from some of those vendors in our shop year round as seen in the attached flier.
Also note our new beef supplier who has stocked our freezer with 1 lb packages of ground beef for $7 and a pack of 8 beef hot dogs for $10.

We finally got some great Tuesday weather at the Town of Schodack Community Market this week and had a great turnout of our 46 registered vendors selling gifts, flowers, fruits, vegetables, herbal products, chicken, beef, eggs, baked goods, root b**r floats, fresh lemonade, iced tea and so much more.
We had music by Scarlet Duo, hot food from Nick's Lighthouse, and homemade ice cream from Java the Hut.
Greenbush Computer Fare will be there 4-7pm every Tuesday this Summer thru Sept 22nd with a booth to take in recyclable computer equipment and send you home with a potted plant, vegetable, pack of seeds, jams, jellies or a variety of pickled items in exchange.

Posters for the Schodack Community Market are ready for spreading the word ...and Greenbush Computer Fare will be there taking in computer recyclables.
Bring in an old computer for recycling and we'll send you home with a potted plant, seedling, vegetable or pack of seeds.
As of now we're planning to offer, perennial ornamental grass, pachysandra, myrtle spurge, althea, hostas, aromatic geranium, San Marzano tomatoes, various hybrid tomatoes, swamp milkweed, climbing Roma bean seeds and hollyhock seeds

With the snowstorm raging yesterday, it was the perfect time for a Sunday dinner of one of Beth Ellers (tbenterprisebeef.com) beef roasts.
I've purchased all my beef; roasts, steaks, ground beef, hot dogs and entire portions of a cow from Beth for the past couple of years ...and here's how I prepare and cook her roasts.

I start by bringing the roast to room temperature before poking 8-10 slits in it with a knife to hold the same amount of garlic slivers.
Then I coat the roast with olive oil and rub in generous amounts of salt & pepper.

I'll get my cast iron skillet hot on the stovetop with a bit of tallow or olive oil in it to sear each side for a couple minutes.

Then it goes on the middle rack in a 425 degree oven for about 20-30 minutes, depending on the size.

Turn the oven down to 225 without opening the door and cook it for a half hour before beginning to check the center temp with an instant digital thermometer.

I like mine rare so my goal is to remove it from the oven when the center temp of the roast is 125 degrees. It will continue to cook outside of the oven. Yesterday it was 119 when I first checked and went up to 129 ten minutes later. They've sometimes reached 150 degrees while resting for 30 min before slicing it.
The center of this 3.37 lb sirloin tip roast was red as I like it but pink closer to the edges for the rest of the crew.

Inventory update: We currently have a wide variety of LAPTOPS & DESKTOP PCs refurbished and on display.
I want to point out the HP Micro PCs, their size in relation to the pen, their amazing specs, and equally amazing prices.
Memory prices have doubled in recent weeks but we refurbished these machines before that occurred. If we had to refurbish these today, the prices would have to be much higher. Hurry in for best selection.

As you may already know, Greenbush Computer Fare has been working with our local Schodack Community Market and Farmers Market vendors for a couple of years now and here's an update on what's currently in their dedicated display case, including fragrant and/or tasty Valentine gifts.
