We are aware of the unfolding situation in Northern Idaho. IAFF 7th District Vice President Ricky Walsh, the Professional Fire Fighters of Idaho (PFFI), and the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) are closely monitoring a serious incident involving firefighters and police officers from Coeur d’Alene IAFF Local 710 and Kootenai County IAFF Local 2856.

At this time, we can confirm that members of our fire service family have been involved in an active and ongoing incident. Out of respect for those directly affected and their families, no additional information will be released at this time.

Local fire and police departments, in coordination with IAFF Locals, are working to ensure that accurate and factual updates are provided as appropriate. We ask for the public’s understanding and patience as we support our members and their loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.
