🇺🇸 HOMETOWN HEROES – VETERANS BANNER PROGRAM 🇺🇸

The City of Carrizo Springs is proud to announce our Hometown Heroes Veterans Banner Program, honoring the brave men and women of Carrizo Springs who have served our country. ❤️🤍💙

In recognition of Veterans Day, the banners will be displayed throughout the month of November as a special tribute to our local veterans and their service and sacrifice.

⭐ WHO CAN BE HONORED?
The program is open to veterans of Carrizo Springs, including those who are:

🇺🇸 Currently serving on active duty
🇺🇸 Previously served in armed forces
🇺🇸 Retired veterans
🇺🇸 Deceased veterans

Family members, friends, or other community members may submit an application on behalf of a veteran.

⭐ LIMITED AVAILABILITY – FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED
The City has a limited number of locations available for banners. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until all available spaces have been filled. We encourage applications to be submitted early.

🍃 BRUSH PICK UP NOTICE 🍃

The City of Carrizo Springs will begin citywide brush pick up next week on Monday, August 31, 2026.

Dimmit County Commissioners will be assisting the City with brush collection efforts within their respective precincts. This collaborative effort will help us better serve our community and continue cleanup operations efficiently.

⚠️ Bulk Items Will Not Be Picked UP

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as crews work throughout the city. Please ensure brush is placed neatly near the curb and away from alleys, utility poles, fire hydrants, and parked vehicles to help crews safely complete collection.

WATER SYSTEM UPDATE — RESTRICTIONS LIFTED 8/20/26

We are pleased to inform our residents that our water storage tank is now FULL, and all water conservation restrictions have been lifted. You may resume normal water usage.

Thank you to our community for conserving water and helping us allow the system to recover and our storage tank to refill.

We also want to thank our City staff for their continued hard work and monitoring of the water system throughout this process.

💧 WATER SYSTEM UPDATE – PLEASE CONTINUE TO CONSERVE WATER

The assessment of our generator has been completed and power restored to our water system. Our system is operating, and we are now working to replenish our water storage tanks.

Although power has been restored, we are asking all residents and businesses to please continue conserving water through tomorrow morning. Reducing water usage overnight will allow our storage tanks time to refill and help the system return to normal operating levels.

We greatly appreciate the community’s patience, understanding, and cooperation. Your continued conservation tonight will help our storage tanks recover and ensure we maintain adequate water for the community.

TEMPORARY WATER CONSERVATION REQUEST

As of this morning, a team of technicians has arrived to perform necessary work on one of our generators. The work is expected to take approximately five hours to complete.

During this time, technicians will need to temporarily shut off power at the water storage tank. While the work is underway, our water supply will be limited to the water currently available in the storage tank.

We are asking all residents and businesses to please conserve water for the next few hours and limit usage to essential needs. Reducing water consumption during this short period will help us maintain adequate water levels until the work is completed and normal operations resume.

This is a temporary conservation request, and we will provide an update once the work has been completed.

We appreciate our community’s continued cooperation, patience, and support. Every effort to conserve—even for just a few hours—helps.

💧 ALL WATER RESTRICTIONS HAVE BEEN LIFTED 💧

The City of Carrizo Springs is pleased to announce that all water restrictions have officially been lifted. Our water system is currently producing sufficient water to meet the needs of our community.

While we are still working to replace equipment damaged during the recent flooding, the progress made allows us to return to normal water use throughout the city.

We’d like to thank our City Council for their continued support throughout the recovery process and to our City staff, whose teamwork, long hours, and commitment helped fully restore water services to our community.

Most importantly, thank you to our residents and community partners. Your cooperation made a big difference. Whether you conserved water, helped spread important information, provided resources, or supported our crews and community during the emergency, you played an important role in our recovery.

The past several weeks demonstrated what can be accomplished when our City Council, City staff, residents, businesses, and community partners work together toward one goal.

Although there is still work ahead, today marks an important milestone in our recovery.

The City of Carrizo Springs would like to inform residents that the City Council will discuss an ordinance regarding the enforcement of the City’s Water Conservation Plan during the scheduled City Council Meeting on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. This agenda item is for discussion only and not action.

The proposed ordinance is intended to establish enforcement measures to help ensure compliance with the City’s Water Conservation Plan and protect our community’s water supply during times of limited water availability.

Residents are encouraged to attend the meeting and stay informed about this important matter. The meeting agenda will be posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act prior to the meeting.
