The news is out: Managed IT and Cybersecurity are NOT the same π±
Maybe not so hot news, but for many who aren't familiar with the IT world, the two concepts can be synonymous. While they do work for the same purpose of strengthening a business's digital defenses and foundation, they do it in different ways.
π» Managed IT is all in the name: managing all things related to a business' Information Technology. Device management and setup, troubleshooting, software installation, managing user accounts, and any of the other day-to-day tech support that keeps the business running without a hitch.
In the beginning stages, managed IT will work on establishing a business' IT foundation, setting up systems and networks that may not have been implemented and consolidating digital workflows.
π Cybersecurity works to tackle risk, threats, and building defenses to prevent any potential incidents. Whether that's through cybersecurity awareness training, anti-malware installation, or risk assessment, it's just as essential as Managed IT.
Identifying potential vulnerabilities in a business' infrastructure and working to patch and make the business stronger differs from day-to-day maintenance, but both keep operations online and efficient.
We'll come out with a blog further breaking it down but know that both are essential in maintaining a healthy and secure business model for the day-to-day activities as well as preventing future incidents.
