It's . Give them a friendly wave! Today is the day to thank the peeps who are out there plowing till 11:00pm with their lights on to put food on your table. All hail the first entrepreneurs!

Since our livelihood is intrinsically entwined with the Ag Economy here in Iowa, and our profit margin has followed the price of pork bellies for years, we would be a fool NOT to. Hey we are smart enough to know on which side our bread is buttered!

Thanks to all who keep us grounded, work the soil, make the bacon, and create amazing and inspiring beauty in our fair State.

Being without water for a whole week was rough. But you know what I learned? Water is the most essential element because without it, you can't make COFFEE. So this week is already off to a really great start. Hope you have a good week too.

Boil Water Advisory has been LIFTED!

As of 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, the Boil Water Advisory has officially been lifted! Water testing has confirmed that the City's water meets safety standards and is safe for normal use.

Residents and businesses can now drink tap water, cook, brush their teeth, bathe, wash dishes, and use water as normal. Boiling water before use is no longer necessary.

The City of Carlisle sincerely thanks our residents and businesses for their patience, understanding, and cooperation throughout this emergency!

You know what's the coolest thing about small towns? When everyone joins together to solve the problem at hand. Wow. We got nothing. That is, NOTHING BUT GRATITUDE!!!! Thanks to the leadership in our fair City who worked get the water flowing again. StickMan is celebrating! It's the neighbors helping neighbors thing, and it's the gift of RECIPROCITY. It's a beautiful thing, and the very definition of COMMUNITY. Thank you!!!!

Small business is so much harder than it looks. Case in point- NO WATER! Sure it's hard to run a business without water, but it's hard to do anything without water. So in this case, we're all in the same boat. In every difficulty therein lies opportunity. We have opportunity to BE a neighbor to our neighbors. We have opportunity to help instead of complain. And we have opportunity to BE a community instead of just talk about community. That's quite the opportunity! So in the long run, it's our response that matters. We're always going to have a few obstacles that we need to work around. It's not about how fast we run, or how high we climb, but how well we bounce. Hang in there Carlisle, and keep your sunny side up!
