Have you gotten a message from "Meta" saying your Facebook account will be deleted in 24 hours?

It's fake. Fox News reported on this scam in July & we’ve been seeing it around lately. The message looks official and even uses Meta's logo, but the sender's name gives it away. In the example they reported, it was spelled "Meta Verrified." The message pushes you to appeal right away so you'll hand over your password and the login code Facebook texts you. With those, scammers can lock you out of your account.

If you get one, don't click anything in the message. Open the Facebook app yourself and check your account there.

Send this to someone who needs to see it.

Were you at Taste of Cave Creek?

Our team spent the evening volunteering, and it was good to see so many familiar faces. Events like this are a big part of what makes Cave Creek special, and we were glad to pitch in.

Thank you to everyone who came out, and to everyone who worked to put it on.

Next up is Community Fest on Tuesday, October 27, at Harold's. We hope to see you there.

Did your Arizona house sit empty all summer? Your computer and printer sat with it.

Our technician Morgan has two quick checks for anyone settling back in around Cave Creek and Carefree. First, let your computer finish its updates before you use it, since after months off that can take a while. Then print a test page, because inkjet ink can dry out over the summer.

Send this to someone who's just getting back.

Do you live somewhere too remote for regular internet?

Here's a Starlink setup we did for a customer's barn. Starlink gets its internet from satellites, so it can reach places regular internet can't. This one is a Starlink Mini with Wi-Fi built in, so there's no separate router to deal with.

We installed it so the owners can unclip it and bring it along when they travel in their RV.

If you have questions about Starlink for your property or your travels, send us a message and we'll see how we can help.

Have you ever paid an invoice that came by email? Please send this to anyone who does.

Scammers are breaking into real businesses’ email accounts and sending fake invoices to their customers. The email comes from the right address and looks completely normal. The only difference is where your money goes.

Business email scams cost Americans more than $3 billion in 2025, with 24,768 reports to the FBI in one year (FBI IC3 2025 Report).

Watch for an invoice that:

Asks you to pay a new bank account or use a new payment link
Pushes you to pay today
Asks for a wire transfer when you normally pay another way

Before you pay, call the business at a number you already have. Don’t use the phone number or link in the email.

If you already paid, call your bank right away.

If someone asked AI to recommend a business like yours, would it name you?

Our website specialist Carly explains why that question matters. More people are typing questions into ChatGPT and Google’s AI, like “Who’s a good roofer in Cave Creek, and how much does it cost?” The AI answers with websites it can read and that answer those questions clearly.

Making your website ready for that is called AEO, or answer engine optimization. It means making sure AI can actually read your site, and answering the questions your customers ask in plain words.

Not sure if AI can read your website? Send us a message, and we’ll see how we can help.

Has anyone ever told you your computer isn't worth fixing?

It's a common belief that a new computer costs less than a repair. A lot of the time, that isn't true. Many of the computers our techs see only need one part, like a new battery, a faster drive or a power supply. That usually costs far less than a new machine, and you keep everything set up the way you like it.

Sometimes replacing is the better deal. Either way, find out what's actually wrong before you buy.

Send this to someone who's thinking about a new computer.

Have you ever wondered who keeps the desert around Cave Creek and Carefree so open and untouched?

A lot of that is thanks to our October Community Partner, Desert Foothills Land Trust. Since 1991, they've conserved nearly 1,100 acres across 29 preserves, protecting the land, plants and wildlife that make this area what it is.

We stopped by their office to say thank you.

Give Desert Foothills Land Trust a follow and see how you can support their work.

Ever wonder what a camera install actually looks like?

Filmed in Carefree from our technician Slater's POV. He climbs down the side of the porch, gets underneath, and puts the camera together piece by piece, right where the yard meets the desert brush.

If there's a spot around your house you'd like to keep an eye on, send us a message.
