We made a couple cutting boards for our neighbor whose elm tree fell down in a storm a couple months ago. They are getting a mantle made but there was some excess for small projects. After milling, kiln drying, planing flat, squaring, sanding, routering( I don’t know what the actual word is for using a router), and finishing- they turned out great. It would have seemed a shame to take that tree to be burned and or turned into mulch. What would make?
