Tried Redesigning My Logo With Claude AI… Here’s Why I Wasn’t Happy With the Results

What happens when a graphic designer uses AI to redesign her own logo? I decided to experiment with Claude AI and screen-recorded the process so you could see how it went.

I wasn’t thrilled with the results, and in this video, I explain why. AI can be a really good creative tool, but there’s more to good logo design than generating an image. Branding requires strategy, visual balance, and an understanding of what makes a business unique.

I found a little tool called MentionBird that I’m using for SEO and it can help with AI visibility.

For one of my clients, Jenna Llewellyn Astrology, I wanted to find real AI prompts related to her website and her area of expertise. The idea is to take those prompts and create helpful articles that directly answer those questions.

Then I can connect those articles to the main pages on her website through SEO siloing and internal links.

My thinking is that if people are asking AI questions about astrology, goddess astrology, relationships, creativity, purpose, etc., I want her website to have quality content that actually answers those questions.

That gives her a better chance of being discovered not only in traditional Google search, but also when people are looking for answers through AI.

Pre made Websites

I recently rebranded my DIY Website Themes into "Pre-Made Websites" for a good reason. They were not selling at all. I realized that the problem probably wasn’t the websites themes. They’re professional, and I think they look pretty good and have some great features, but the old offer meant you had to handle the setup yourself. Visual Artist Portfolio & Maker Web Design

I just launched a new one-page website for Keenes Woodcraft. I took a therapist theme and completely transformed it into a woodworking artist/maker portfolio, with lots of photos showcasing his projects, a section about what he does, a little about him, and an easy way to get in touch. The design uses warm browns and creams inspired by natural wood tones, with brighter blues for a little contrast....

I use ChatGPT to visualize website ideas, test color palettes, and explore creative directions - but I never use an AI-generated website design as-is.

The real design still requires thoughtful choices: simplifying the layout, selecting the right images and fonts, and creating something custom for the client. Partner with AI; don't let it do the work for you.
