Weird Browser behavior?
Reset your Web-Browsers.
[ chrome://settings ]
Search every browser's help menu for "Reset."
"Internet Explorer's" is in "Control Panel, Internet Options."
Remember to un-check default auto-detect settings, for no proxy. (If it comes back), by it's self, checked, (after re-booting), you may have (unknown software) that is (not a virus), but sends all your Internet data to a spying server, accounts and passwords, for example. (virtually undetectable).

Don't be an overprotective parent, to your computer. 😟 (Microsoft Security Essentials or MS Windows Defender) will allow (automatic updates) to successfully install 😃 and it's built-in!
I commonly see MS Windows corrupted by third party "anti-viruses," not allowing your computer to function properly by disabling the computer's abilities and corrupting MS-Windows updates. How many people have not been able to start-up into MS-Windows (after an update)? Do (anti-viruses) automatically turn off, to allow an automatic MS-Windows update? It's not MS-Windows fault. The update can't be successful if there is an anti-virus, preventing successful system change. So, my advise is to just use the one that comes built-in, made by Microsoft.
More than one anti-virus on your computer can mess things up. Might as well use the one that doesn't prevent the normal smooth functions and updates of your computer.

This was done, (one MS-Windows version) at a time, by installing DOS and MS (Windows ~ 1) through (Windows ~ 10). "Turns-out," it was all worth it!

Important: (Advanced graphics cards) have "Gaming Mode," auto adjust settings, tweaked specifically for (each game), you may have. I worry about redundancies and errors, caused, as "too many cooks spoil the broth," with Win-10 Creator's "Gaming Mode." Just like, Connor MacLeod said, "There can be only one." Similar as, (only one) anti-virus, running and controlling the system or it will mess up your computer's system and cause it to stop or "freeze." 😳
