1. Authorship:
Google is no longer using authorship, not even in depth articles. Though two years back Google announced they stopped using authorship but till date they have not completely.
2. RankBrain:
After lot of discussion between Illyes(Google head of web spam) and Danny, they explained one can’t optimize for RankBrain and there is no score for RankBrain though it is among top three ranking signal.
3. Panda:
Panda is a content quality algorithm and it is continues update. Update is slow and is taking months. In fact in near future we might not see any panda update as it become part of algorithm.
4. Penguin:
Illyes still keeping it secret that when we will see next penguin. Reason he said that many time he is been wrong about release date and his team is working on it.
My experience says that we will see penguin by end of this year or starting of next year. So we have to be careful about making backlinks.
And Llyes also said that now penguin will roll out every year so if any site hit by penguin won’t have to wait for next update. Correct the website and resubmit for evaluation.
5. AMP, Assistants and Bots:
When Sullivan asked Illyes to give tips to SEO for preparation for future he gave the audience two things AMP is going to be big and SEO and Webmaster have to think about getting ready for AMP.
He also said assistants, bots and chat bots are progressing and developing, and webmasters should pay attention to that area.
6. Mobile Index:
According to Illyes Google is still working on mobile-only index. The mobile-only index may be used for smart phone searches and be separated from normal index. Currently google is using same index and almost ranking signals for desktop as well as smart phones.
7. Google Search Console more data
Since three years Google promised it seems like more data and longer history of data in search console may be added. Illyes said team is working on it. But it is unclear when it will happen.
8. HTTPs Adoption:
Illyes clearly said 34% of index is now HTTPs. He strongly recommended that webmaster consider migrating their website from HTTP to HTTPs sooner.
