Christian camp directors: has Summer 2027 registration opened yet?

If it hasn't, you're already behind.

The camps that fill fastest don't launch registration in January. They launch it in October. Then they spend the next six months warming up parents while the January-launch camps are still designing their brochures.

Here's the pattern we see every year with our camp clients.

Camps that launch registration October to November: 60 to 70 percent of Summer 2027 weeks are filled by March 1. The rest of the year is upsells and full-weeks.

Camps that launch registration January to February: they're still calling families in May, trying to fill mid-July.

Same camp. Same product. Same price. The difference is a 90-day head start.

Parents don't decide about summer in the summer. They decide about summer between Thanksgiving and Valentine's Day. If your registration isn't open by then, someone else's is.

Three quick moves for the next 30 days:

Open registration by November 1. If your systems aren't ready, launch a "Priority Early Bird" waitlist first.
Send one email to every family who came in 2026. Not a newsletter. A single, personal-feeling note.
Post the dates - On social. On the homepage. Everywhere.

Tag a camp director you know. October matters more than they think.

Most marketing agencies sell you hours.

We sell you outcomes.

That is the entire difference.

An hours-based agency invoices you for the meetings, the emails, the design revisions, the strategy calls. You pay for the work whether it moved a number or not. Six months in, you have a stack of invoices and no way to say if it was worth it.

An outcomes-based agency puts the number on the wall in month one. Leads per month. Return on ad spend. Cost per qualified conversation. Every meeting after that is about whether the number moved.

The first model rewards busy work. The second model rewards results.

If your current agency can't tell you, in one sentence, what number they're accountable for this quarter, you're paying for hours.

That's not their fault. It's the model they chose. But it is your money.

You can change the model. Ask your next agency what number they're on the hook for. If they can't say, keep looking.

Quick poll for established business owners.

What eats your marketing budget the most right now?

1️⃣ Ads (Google, Meta, whatever is running)
2️⃣ Agencies or contractors
3️⃣ Tools and software subscriptions
4️⃣ A team member who's stretched too thin

Drop the number in the comments. No wrong answer. We're compiling the results next week.

The reason we ask is simple. The line item most likely to be draining money is almost never the one owners think it is. Half the time it's not #1. Sometimes it's not even on the list. But you can't fix a leak until you know where it is.

If you want to skip the poll and get a straight answer on your own numbers, book a free 30-minute call at lifedge.online. We'll look at where the money is actually going and tell you the truth about what it's producing.

It's October.

Do you know what your Q4 marketing goal is?

Not "grow." Not "more leads." An actual number, with a date on it.

If you don't have one, you're not planning. You're hoping the next 12 weeks turn out better than the last 12.

Here's a Q4 goal test you can run in 60 seconds:

Name the number (leads, calls, revenue, pipeline).
Name the date it needs to hit by.
Name the one activity most likely to produce it.

If you can answer all three cleanly, you have a plan. If you can't, you have a wish list.

There's still time to fix this. October Q4 planning is what makes December Q4 ex*****on possible. Waiting until November is how the year quietly ends without the growth you wanted.

Drop your Q4 number in the comments if you have one. Or drop a question mark if you don't. We'll take you seriously either way.

Most Christian camps market to kids.

Kids don't sign the check.

Parents do.

That single mistake is why so many camp websites have great photos of s'mores and canoes, and quietly poor registration numbers. The photos are for the kid. The decision is the parent's.

Parents don't want to know if your camp is fun. They already assume it's fun. They want to know:

Will my child be safe?
Will my child be seen?
Will my child come home changed in a way I care about?

If your camp website opens with "Adventure. Faith. Friendship." you're speaking to the kid.

If it opens with "The one week a year your child talks about at Thanksgiving dinner," you're speaking to the parent.

Both messages can be on the site. But the parent message has to come first. Because the parent is the one deciding.

The camps that fill fastest almost always figure this out. Their homepage sounds like a conversation with a parent. Their brochure sounds like a conversation with a parent. Their email sequence sounds like a conversation with a parent.

The kid still gets sold when they arrive at camp. The parent gets sold before that ever happens.

Not every story works.

That's the part most people miss.

We're told to "tell stories" in our marketing. So we write something polished and shiny. Then we're surprised when it lands with a thud.

The stories that actually stick have six things in common. If yours is missing any of them, it won't do the work you're asking it to do.

1-It's specific.
Not a broad idea. An actual moment. "The client called on a Tuesday afternoon and said..." Not "sometimes clients want..."

2-There are stakes.
Something could have gone wrong. A decision had to be made. Risk was real. Without stakes, it's not a story. It's a report.

3-You see a shift.
Something clicked. Something changed. The reader watches the moment happen. Without a shift, nothing moved. And if nothing moved, no one felt it.

4-It doesn't over-explain.
Trust your reader. Give them enough to follow, not everything you know. Over-explaining is what makes stories feel like brochures.

5-It's honest.
You didn't have it all figured out. You almost got it wrong. That crack in the polish is what makes readers lean in.

6-The takeaway is clear.
The reader closes the tab knowing why you told them the story.
If it's just a story, it's fine. If it changes how they see something, it stays with them.

Save this. Run your next post through the list before you hit publish.
