This Easter, while we celebrate renewal, family, and fresh starts — don’t forget about protecting what you’ve worked so hard to build.

Cyber threats don’t take holidays.

In fact, holidays like Easter often see an increase in:
• Phishing emails disguised as holiday promotions
• Fake shipping notifications
• Malicious links hidden in “Easter deals” or greetings

It’s a reminder that while we’re spending time with family and unplugging, attackers are still looking for opportunities.

A few simple reminders:
• Don’t click suspicious links — even if they look festive
• Verify emails before opening attachments
• Keep systems updated and protected
• Make sure backups are in place

Just like Easter represents renewal, it’s a great time to refresh your cybersecurity habits.

Protect your business.
Protect your data.
Protect your peace of mind.

Wishing you a safe, secure, and happy Easter.

Awards are nice, recognition is nice, but in this case... We'll take it for what it is. We've seen these type awards hanging in small businesses. It does tend to look good to consumers. With a little research, we don't "pay-to-play" so in this case, we'll just let this one slip on by!

Google search: Business Rate Awards letters are generally considered a "vanity award scam" or "pay-to-play" scheme, not a prestigious or legitimate honor. These solicitations often target small businesses by offering a fake award or plaque for a fee, designed to make money through sales rather than recognizing true merit, according to consumer reports.

How do you look at "pay-to-play" awards? What do you think about how these awards are evaluated?

Small businesses often think cyber threats are “big company problems.”

They’re not.

Ransomware, Trojans, spyware/adware, and worms can cripple a small business overnight — financially, operationally, and reputationally.

Let’s put this in perspective.

If these threats were people:

RANSOMWARE would be a kidnapper.
It locks up your data, holds your operations hostage, and demands payment to give you your business back. Payroll stops, invoices stall, clients wait; every hour costs you money.

A TROJAN virus would be a con artist.
It looks legitimate. An email, a download, an attachment; you invite it in — and once inside, it opens the door for attackers to access your systems.

SPYWARE/ADWARE would be a spy.
Quiet, patient, watching, collecting passwords, financial data, customer information — often without you knowing for months. The damage builds silently.

A WORM would be an arsonist.
It spreads rapidly from system to system without needing permission. One infected device can turn into a full network shutdown in minutes.

For a small business, this isn’t just an IT issue.

It can mean:
• Lost revenue
• Regulatory fines
• Legal liability
• Damaged customer trust
• Permanent closure

Small businesses don’t usually fail because of one bad day.
They fail because they weren’t prepared for the wrong day.

Cybersecurity isn’t paranoia.
It’s protection.

The question isn’t “Will it happen to us?”
It’s “Are we prepared if it does?”
