It’s National Snail Day, and we’re fully embracing the magic of these tiny, leisurely moving adventurers.

At the 2026 TSi Family Reunion in Orlando, we had the privilege of recognizing one exceptional employee-owner with one of the highest honors our company bestows: the TSi President’s Award.

Presented annually by Executive Chairman Darryl Keeler and President & CEO Wayne Smith, this award recognizes a 10+ year employee-owner who exemplifies an unwavering commitment to customer service, integrity, leadership, and the principles of F.O.C.U.S.™ (For Our Clients’ Ultimate Satisfaction).

This year’s recipient is Nytee Laidler, Senior Manager, Logistics, celebrating 23 years of service with TSi.

Nytee is the kind of leader every organization hopes to have. She leads by example, approaches every challenge with integrity, and consistently puts the needs of her teammates and clients first. Her dedication to doing the right thing, commitment to excellence, and the respect she has earned throughout the organization make her a true reflection of what it means to be an employee-owner.

“Nytee represents the very best of TSi,” said Wayne Smith, President & CEO. “For more than two decades, she has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to our clients, our culture, and her fellow employee-owners. Last Thursday, TSi hosted Tech Connect 2026 in Katy, TX. This exclusive event brought together TSi clients, trusted partners, and industry leaders for an afternoon of networking, collaboration, and hands-on engagement.

Lance Holloway led a session on AI's current impact on physical security: where it creates genuine capability, and where it introduces risk that most organizations have not factored into their roadmap. Four areas drove the conversation:

1. AI-driven threats, including deepfakes and machine-scale vulnerability discovery.

2. What governance and identity discipline actually look like inside an AI-enabled platform.

3. Regulatory & standards momentum: EU AI Act, ISO 42001, NIST, SEC disclosure requirements, and the executive expectations that follow.

Today is National Sea Monkey Day, and if you grew up in the 70s or 80s, you probably remember the ads.

A smiling family.
Tiny underwater pets doing tricks.
An entire civilization living in a fish tank.

To a 5-year-old brain, it looked incredible.

Then they arrived in the mail.

What you actually got was a packet of brine shrimp floating around in cloudy water wondering why everyone was disappointed.

Technically alive? Yes.
Exactly what the ads promised? Absolutely not.

Funny enough, some things never change.

A lot of security providers still market solutions the same way Sea Monkeys were marketed. Big promises. Impressive claims. Guaranteed response times. “Fully integrated” systems. “World-class support.”

Then reality shows up in a little envelope.
