Member Spotlight: VSP Graphic Group
What started as a small sign shop in a home garage has grown into a nationally recognized graphics company with deep roots right here in Western New York.
BNMA recently had the opportunity to tour member VSP Graphic Group and get a behind-the-scenes look at the creativity, technology, and craftsmanship that go into the graphics we see every day—often without realizing just how much work happens before the finished product hits a vehicle, building, wall, or display.
Founded in 1995 by Trace George as Vinyl Signz Plus, VSP initially provided graphics to the local and national NASCAR racing community. The company soon expanded into graphics for police, fire, and emergency vehicles before growing into the wide range of commercial branding and specialty applications it produces today.
Walking through the facility makes the scope of VSP’s capabilities clear. Their team handles projects ranging from fleet wraps and vehicle graphics to building signage, interior environments, commercial vinyl graphics, event displays, academic and athletic facilities, and custom specialty applications. Much of the process—from creative design and printing to production and installation—is supported by VSP’s team and equipment in-house.
And chances are, Western New Yorkers have already seen their work. VSP became the Official Graphic Provider of the Buffalo Bills in 2012 and added the Buffalo Sabres in 2015, while continuing to serve organizations of all sizes locally and beyond.
Quality is another major part of the operation. VSP is a 3M Certified Installation Company and has worked with 3M for decades, with certifications and training designed around professional installation, production quality, and industry standards.
But perhaps the most interesting part of VSP’s story is that, despite its growth, it remains a family business built in Buffalo. From a garage sign shop to a company producing graphics seen across Western New York and around the country, VSP is a great example of the creativity, skilled workforce, and specialized manufacturing capabilities that exist right here in our region.
Thank you to the VSP Graphic Group team for welcoming BNMA in and giving us a look behind the scenes!
