At the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), students are gaining real-world experience by bringing ideas to life through additive manufacturing.
With students producing approximately 2,000–2,500 parts each quarter, finding an efficient way to manage post-processing was essential to keeping projects on track throughout SCAD’s accelerated 10-week academic calendar.
By integrating the PostProcess BASE and DEMI 830, SCAD automated FDM & PolyJet support removal across both technologies, reducing manual labor, increasing efficiency and giving students more time to design, experiment, and bring their projects to life.
This is not only an example of how automated post-processing can support production efficiency, but also impact the hands-on learning experience at the heart of additive manufacturing education.
